Job description
Swiftly is a retail digital technology startup founded in 2018 and headquartered in the Bay Area. We empower regional and independent grocers to compete in a digital-first world by providing best-in-class app, web, loyalty, and e-commerce solutions—without SaaS fees. Instead, Swiftly drives revenue through its retail media network, sharing profits with retailer partners.
With 70+ retailer banners and Series C funding, Swiftly is the first in the industry to seamlessly connect digital and in-store shopping. Our AI-powered platform helps retailers build strong digital relationships, while our solutions—Audience Optimizer™, Alcohol Cashback, and Offsite Campaigns—drive shopper engagement and brand success.
Our mission: Enable brick-and-mortar retailers to thrive in a digital world.
Position Summary:
The Brand Strategy function at Swiftly is a new and critical part of the Revenue Operations team, designed to support both our CPG and Retail sales organizations with strategic storytelling, insights-driven materials, and go-to-market frameworks that unlock revenue growth.
We’re looking for a founding Senior Manager or Director of Brand Strategy to build this function from the ground up — someone who can bring structure, creativity, and clarity to how Swiftly shows up in market to advertisers and retailers alike.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role responsible for creating the narratives, pitch materials, and category-level insights that power Swiftly’s pre-sale motion. Reporting into the Head of Revenue Operations, this role will collaborate closely with Sales, Product Marketing, Creative, and Insights to develop and scale best-in-class sales enablement and campaign strategy materials.
The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of experience in brand strategy, retail media, or B2B marketing—ideally supporting both advertiser and partner sales teams. They are a confident storyteller, deck builder, and problem solver who can take an ambiguous brief and turn it into a compelling pitch or proactive narrative. This person is excited to shape a new function, build repeatable systems, and establish Swiftly’s strategic voice in a growing and competitive category.
Responsibilities Include:
- Own the development of Swiftly’s strategic narrative across top CPG accounts, aligning retail media solutions with client business goals and category dynamics
- Lead proposal strategy and narrative development for RFPs, pitches, and go-to-market materials, leveraging 1P data, shopper insights, and category trends to demonstrate impact
- Partner closely with Sales, Account Management, Product Marketing, and Analytics to craft compelling, insight-driven presentations tailored to key verticals (e.g., beverages, snacks, personal care)
- Collaborate with Insights and Product Marketing to shape custom research initiatives and strategic proof points that elevate Swiftly’s positioning in the retail media ecosystem
- Build scalable toolkits, frameworks, and sales materials that reflect the latest product capabilities, use cases, and success stories, enabling consistent storytelling across teams
- Maintain and customize a centralized library of sales materials and retailer-specific mockups to support high-impact, tailored pitches
- Stewards the Joint Business Planning (JBP) process across strategic accounts, coordinating planning inputs, developing customized materials, and aligning on priorities
- Stay ahead of CPG and retail media trends, competitive positioning, and evolving KPIs to inform Swiftly’s differentiation and strategic approach
- Provide strategic guidance and quality control for materials developed by junior team members, ensuring alignment with brand standards and strategic goals
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience building cross-platform digital marketing programs, ideally within retail media, CPG, or performance-driven environments
- Familiarity with RFP processes, including strategic proposal development and collaboration across Sales, Insights, and Design
- Informed by a strong understanding of media innovation and evolving trends across digital, in-store, mobile, and CPG advertising
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for brand, agency, and internal audiences
- Highly visual communicator with an eye for design; proficient in PowerPoint or other presentation tools (such as Pitch) to develop compelling sales narratives
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong strategic planning capabilities, with a firm grasp of digital marketing innovations
- Experience working for a media agency/strategy services and/or marketing media services
- Understanding of retail media, shopper marketing, and the nuances of go-to-market positioning for omnichannel platforms
$130,000 - $150,000 a year
