Business Analyst (PEGA, NBA Planning & Implementation)

Location:Β Remote with potential onsite travel if required

Contract:Β 12+ months

Headcount:Β 2

Project Overview

Our client is scaling its Next Best Action (NBA) program on the PEGA Customer Decision Hub (CDH) platform to drive strategic planning, data-driven enablement, and seamless execution of NBA campaigns across the Government vertical. The program requires experienced Business Analysts who can operate as end-to-end owners of the NBA lifecycle, ensuring alignment between business goals, backend data capabilities, and Pega implementation.

Each BA will serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, technical delivery teams, and cross-functional partners (data engineering, modeling, QA, operations, and channel teams). These roles will provide critical leadership in roadmap planning, backend enablement alignment, and full-cycle Pega implementation governance. Two BAs with identical skill sets and responsibilities are being sought to manage workload distribution across multiple NBA programs.

Job Description

1. Planning & Roadmap Ownership

  • Lead quarterly and annual NBA planning, consolidating inputs from business owners and aligning with organizational goals.

  • Define prioritization criteria (value, effort, feasibility) and facilitate prioritization forums with senior stakeholders.

  • Develop and maintain the NBA release calendar, sequencing launches and ensuring dependencies are tracked.

  • Socialize roadmap decisions, trade-offs, and pipeline changes with executive stakeholders.

  • Deliver executive-ready roadmap documentation, including a rolling three-quarter view of Pega NBA plans.

2. Backend Alignment with NBA Roadmap

  • Map backend dependencies (data models, propensity models, eligibility services, segmentation attributes) to NBA releases.

  • Partner with data engineering and modeling teams to prioritize enabling capabilities that unblock future NBA use cases.

  • Validate alignment between backend data roadmap and NBA release pipeline.

  • Identify and escalate capability gaps that may delay or constrain NBA launches.

  • Produce dependency mapping and technical readiness assessments for each release.

3. Pega Implementation & Delivery Governance

  • Manage the full lifecycle of NBA launches in PEGA, including intake, requirements gathering, dependency tracking, and delivery.

  • Capture business objectives, eligibility rules, channel needs, data requirements, and KPIs.

  • Develop detailed project plans and maintain timelines, identifying critical path items and cross-team dependencies.

  • Act as a bridge between business teams, the Pega core team, QA, data, and operations.

  • Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, readiness gates (Definition of Ready/Done), and change control.

  • Own delivery governance, providing visibility into risks, blockers, and Go/No-Go decisions.

  • Publish regular status reports and communicate risks/issues with mitigation strategies.

  • Serve as the day-to-day Pega point of contact for stakeholders, managing intake and triaging Pega-related questions.

  • Ensure escalation paths and SLAs are clearly defined and adhered to.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of Business Analyst experience with large-scale technology projects.

  • 4+ years working specifically with PEGA CDH/NBA programs in a BA, delivery, or roadmap ownership role.

  • Strong background in roadmap planning, governance, and intake/prioritization frameworks.

  • Expertise in aligning backend data capabilities with business and marketing roadmaps.

  • Proven experience managing end-to-end delivery lifecycle in Pega, including sprint planning, backlog management, and stakeholder communications.

  • Ability to function effectively as a conduit across business, data, and technical teams.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to present roadmaps and prioritization outcomes to executives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Healthcare, Insurance, or Government verticals.

  • Familiarity with propensity modeling, segmentation attributes, and eligibility services.

  • Hands-on knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies, including Jira/Confluence or similar tools.

  • Experience working with distributed or offshore delivery teams.
