Business Analyst

Job requirements
- Location: Novi, MI – Open to remote work with occasional travel to Novi as required by the client
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, understand, and document business requirements.
- Analyze large datasets stored in PostgreSQL and derive actionable business insights.
- Write advanced SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
- Work closely with data engineers, developers, and BI teams to deliver solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Support data quality checks, validations, and conduct root cause analysis of data-related issues.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Excel.
- Assist in developing data dictionaries and maintaining business glossaries.
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), troubleshooting, and validation of database-related features and reports.
- Demonstrate proficiency in PostgreSQL, including complex SQL query writing and a solid understanding of database structures.
- Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with close attention to detail.
- Understand data modeling concepts and work effectively with relational databases.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience or strong working knowledge of Snowflake, PostgreSQL, SQL, and Tableau.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or R is a plus.
- Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehousing.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Experience working in cloud environments (e.g., AWS RDS for PostgreSQL) is an added advantage.
