About Us

We are reinventing consumer credit. We wildly reduce the cost of capital by using technology to easily tap into people’s assets. Our first product is the world’s cheapest credit card, backed by home equity. Using many patented technologies, we sped up a process that usually takes 4-6 weeks and thousands of dollars down to as fast as 15 minutes and $0 to get.

The Team

We are a well-capitalized (over $250MM in equity funding) team of technology (Square, Microsoft, Facebook) and finance (Discover, CapitalOne, Goldman Sachs) executives with top-tier investors – Founders Fund, Khosla Ventures, Max Levchin, NYCA, Sequoia, SciFi VC, Caffeinated Capital, etc.

  • Our team includes people who have built:

  • Financial products (Square/CashApp, the earliest CapitalOne credit cards)

  • Consumer products (Internet.org, Xbox)

  • Technology infrastructure (Visual Studio, Windows & Azure, helped design the C++ & C# languages)

  • Mathematics & science infrastructure (computational research at NASA’s JPL)

Job Brief

We’re looking for a Business Development Associate to help us grow Aven by identifying and securing high-impact partnerships. This role is perfect for someone who’s energized by outreach, thrives in ambiguity, and wants to make a direct impact on the company’s growth trajectory. As a Business Development Associate, you’ll be the first point of contact for many of our potential partners. You’ll be responsible for driving new business opportunities, managing outbound efforts, and building strong early-stage relationships. You’ll work closely with the founding team to shape and execute partnership strategies that move the needle.

What you’ll do:

  • Drive new business opportunities by identifying, qualifying, and nurturing partnership opportunities for Aven

  • Oversee the first stage of the sales pipeline by performing cold outreach and nurturing leads through various channels, including phone, email, and in-person meetings

  • Manage the outbound sales pipeline, ensuring data accuracy and serving as the source of truth

  • Make a remarkable first impression on potential partners by providing consistent value at every touchpoint

  • Champion growth opportunities internally through partnership initiatives

Requirements

  • Previous experience in business development or direct sales focused on cold prospecting

  • Grit and determination – ability to excel in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and hit ambitious targets

  • Proven track record of success in a quota-carrying role

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • A successful track record in B2B business development or sales is a bonus
