Job description
Life is too short to work for a boring company, so why don’t you join us?
We’re looking for a resourceful and driven Business Development Manager to lead our expansion efforts in the Asian non-gaming mobile app market, with a focus on identifying studios for acquisition or acceleration. You will play a key role in executing our M&A strategy and helping us build a new accelerator for B2C mobile app studios, especially those using subscription models and AI-driven products.
This is a strategic role designed for someone who thrives on identifying opportunities, building networks, and closing high-impact deals.
A little bit about us
Leadtech has been fostering and developing innovative digital businesses across several industries since 2009. It has since then expanded to a team of over 500 committed employees working all over Spain. We are thrilled to have more than 23 nationalities working together and very proud to see that our products and services are enjoyed by millions of users monthly around the globe.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Sourcing & Qualification
- Identify promising mobile app studios (non-gaming, B2C) across categories such as productivity, health & fitness, AI tools, and utilities.
- Evaluate target studios against key criteria: strong team (2–10 people), agile product cycle (2–3 weeks), subscription monetization, and <$3M ARR.
- Use tools such as Sensor Tower, Data.ai, and LinkedIn to build a qualified lead pipeline.
Founder Outreach & Relationship Building
- Lead outreach efforts via email, LinkedIn, and regional platforms (e.g., WeChat).
- Build and manage relationships with founders, brokers, and startup hubs across China, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, and Korea.
- Act as the first point of contact and guide founders through our value proposition.
Support Accelerator Strategy
- Help scout and recruit studios to join our upcoming mobile app accelerator, focusing on those aligned with subscription models, AI, and high-speed product cycles.
- Assist in organizing local and virtual events (e.g. founder dinners, webinars, community roundtables) to build our visibility and studio pipeline.
- Coordinate with partners and internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding of selected studios.
Strategic Events & Community Engagement
- Represent Leadtech at conferences and ecosystem events relevant to mobile apps and startups in the Asian market.
- Help organize and promote strategic presence at local developer meetups, accelerators, and tech communities.
- Contribute insights and feedback to continuously refine our lead generation and regional approach.
Cross-Team Collaboration
Collaborate closely with product, legal, finance, and tech teams during deal structuring, due diligence, and onboarding.
Maintain CRM and dashboards (e.g., Pipedrive, Looker) with detailed progress tracking of outreach and negotiations.
Prepare weekly updates and strategic reports for the leadership team.
2–4 years of experience in business development, startup scouting, venture capital, or digital M&A (experience in Asia strongly preferred).
Strong understanding of the mobile app market and consumer subscription models.
Fluent in English and Mandarin or Cantonese; Korean or Vietnamese is a plus.
Based in China or Hong Kong with local knowledge of regional startup ecosystems.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills with a self-starter mindset.
Familiarity with tools like Sensor Tower, Data.ai, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Google Sheets, and Pipedrive.
What You’ll Gain:
- Work directly with a senior leadership team scaling a portfolio of digital products globally.
- Be a founding contributor in our new app accelerator initiative, helping shape how we partner with top-tier mobile studios.
- Flexible remote setup with optional access to a local office in Beijing.
