About the role
As a Business Development Representative you will play an integral role in creating the pipeline for the Sales teams. Your primary focus is to identify potential customers, connect with these prospects through a variety of methods, and ideally book meetings for their counterparts in Sales resulting in net new customers for The Adaptavist Group. To reach your targets, you will need to spend your days hunting for decision makers and connecting with them over the phone, in person or over email. The Adaptavist Group’s marketing team will supply the Business Development Representatives with a steady stream of leads to assist with their monthly pipeline target. You will need to have grit, discipline and the drive to earn a successful career in sales. You will need to be prepared to show up everyday and work hard even when times get tough.
What you’ll be doing
Build new opportunities with new customers
- Identifying new potential customers for The Adaptavist Group to work with using online tools
- Constantly researching ideal companies and finding decision makers
- Connecting with prospects through a variety of channels to build opportunities
- Working hand in hand with Sales to build a quality pipeline on strategic accounts
Qualify Marketing Leads
- Qualifying inbound marketing leads from marketing events and digital campaigns
- Identifying the needs of the customer and identifying their current pains
- Promoting The Adaptavist Group’s products and services during every contact
- Maintaining a high level of professionalism in every interaction
Account Renewals
- Managing a list of current customers
- Performing regularly scheduled check-ins and promoting The Adaptavist Group’s products and services
- Scheduling meetings with your customers prior to their renewal
- Understanding customer needs and growing the accounts who need assistance
What we’re looking for
Essential
- 1 to 2 years prior experience in a Sales Development or Business Development Role
- Ability to adapt within a forever changing environment
- Experience with monthly target attainment
- Comfortable making a large number of client calls and emails each day
- Willingness to learn new things and adapt sales methodologies
- Quickly build rapport during phone calls
Desirable
- Knowledge of the Atlassian ecosystem (Jira, Confluence)
- Experience using a CRM - preferably HubSpot
- Working experience of Slack
- Understanding current digital marketing practises
- Time spent using video communication tools
- Any post secondary education
