A dynamic and forward-thinking real estate company that owns and manages approximately 7500 apartment homes across diverse cities in Colorado, Utah, Kansas, Missouri, Florida, and Arizona is looking for a Centralized Accountant.
The Centralized Accountant will be responsible for various accounting and accounts payable tasks related to over 50 multifamily assets. This role supports the Accountants, Accounting Managers, and Accounts Payable Lead in recurring monthly property close tasks, which include reconciling bank accounts, posting reclasses and accruals, processing replacement reserve draws, managing property purchase cards, circulating property financials, and reviewing property accounts payable and vendor statements. This position ensures the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of vital monthly tasks for all properties.
Key Responsibilities:
Post various reclasses and accruals for month-end close.
Review, coordinate completion, and post monthly purchase card activity.
Reconcile all bank accounts for properties, researching and resolving any outstanding items.
Manage and submit requests for replacement reserve reimbursement.
Compile and circulate monthly financial statements to internal and external parties.
Post monthly mortgage payments, interest accruals, and escrow activity.
Review property operation reports and identify any errors.
Monitor and administer Yardi PayScan workflows to ensure all invoices are processed in a timely manner.
Review payable exceptions and collaborate with the appropriate parties to resolve them.
Review accounts payable invoices in the accounting system for accuracy.
Reconcile vendor statements with the accounting system.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
At least 2 years of accounting experience is required for this role.
At least 2 years of experience in real estate accounting and accounts payable is preferred.
Experience with Yardi or other property management software is preferred.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and proactive.
Committed to following up with internal and external customers in a timely manner.
