As a Cloud Strategist specializing in Microsoft technologies, you will play a pivotal role in guiding clients through the strategic adoption and optimization of cloud solutions. Your expertise will help drive long-term business success by aligning cloud initiatives with organizational goals. Imagine transforming technical decisions into measurable business outcomes, such as optimizing infrastructure with Azure, enhancing collaboration through Microsoft 365, and developing innovative solutions using Power Platform. This role blends visionary planning with real-world application, offering practical examples that demonstrate measurable value. Your knowledge of cloud security best practices, cost optimization techniques, and cloud governance frameworks will be crucial in this dynamic and impactful position. By excelling in this role, you will directly contribute to Planet’s growth and our reputation as a leader in cloud innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute cloud strategies tailored to client business objectives.
- Assist in developing the SOW (Statement of Work) with other team members to drive cohesive projects that meet tactical and strategic customer objectives.
- Translate technical solutions into business value through clear, outcome-driven communication.
- Collaborate with C-level stakeholders to align cloud roadmaps with defined strategic goals.
- Provide real-world examples and use cases to demonstrate the impact of cloud adoption.
- Identify, scope, and refer opportunities for additional sales that provide Planet’s offerings that contribute to our customers’ success.
- Stay current with Microsoft’s evolving cloud ecosystem and industry best practices.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field is preferred, but is not required. Commensurate experience in technical sales will be considered instead of formal education.
- A master’s degree (MBA or MIS) is a plus.
- Microsoft Certifications in Azure, M365, and Power Platform a plus.
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Licensing and the ability to provide excellent guidance to our customers.
Experience:
- 7–10 years of IT experience, with 3–5 years in cloud strategy or architecture.
- Proven success in client-facing roles, especially in consulting or digital transformation.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and Power Platform.

Compensation for this position includes both base salary and bonus. Several factors will impact final pay offered to a successful candidate including but not limited to the type and years of experience required for the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, training, or clearance etc. Base salaries for a Cloud Strategist at Planet Technologies ranges between $140,000 and $180,000.
