THE ROLE

The Manager, Compliance & Strategic Projects will assume the critical role of leading Grove’s transition from 404a to 404b status. This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact at a growing, recently IPO’d company. This role will report to our Sr. Director of Enterprise Tech & Compliance.

As our first hire dedicated to SOX compliance, you will elaborate and elevate our SOX program. You’ll work in partnership with external advisors and internal stakeholders to ensure effectiveness of internal controls and drive improvements across the organization. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves building from the ground up, and is passionate about using technology to enhance business processes.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Act as the subject matter expert on SOX compliance, providing guidance and support to internal teams to mitigate risks
  • Lead SOX planning, scoping, and risk assessments in collaboration with process owners and external auditors
  • Create Process Flows / Narratives and ensure the RCM is up to date
  • Manage the execution of all SOX 404 phases, including walkthroughs, documentation, testing, reporting, and remediation tracking
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and work cross-functionally to implement
  • Serve as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders, external auditors, and consultants, ensuring alignment on SOX-related activities
  • Provide regular updates to management and the Audit Committee, ensuring transparency and accountability
  • Assist in evaluating the impact of new processes, policies, and systems on the control environment

ABOUT YOU

  • You have 5-7 years of Internal Audit, Finance, Accounting, External Auditor, or SOX experience

  • You have experience with Workiva, ERPs (Oracle, SAP, NetSuite), and other financial tooling

  • You love diving deep, making processes better, and driving change

  • You are a task master and project manager, able to prioritize and execute multiple initiatives simultaneously

  • You are confident in interacting with management and external stakeholders at all levels

  • You bring a strong understanding of US GAAP, COSO, PCAOB Auditing Standards, and internal control frameworks

  • You have experience managing external audit relationships and leading compliance initiatives

  • You have a degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field

  • Bonus points if:

  • You have contributed to building a SOX program from the ground up in a recently IPO’d company

  • You are a CPA, CIA, or PMP

$130,000 - $165,000 a year

Our compensation bands are adjusted based on market-specific cost of living data, meaning that the top of our salary range is reserved for the most experienced candidates in the highest cost of living areas across the country. We aim to be competitive and fair.
