Mark43 builds the world’s leading public safety software platform for government agencies. Our mission is to empower public servants with modern, cloud-based tools that help them protect and serve their communities. We work exclusively with state, local, federal, and international governments—bringing cutting-edge technology to mission-critical environments.
We are seeking a Contract Manager to lead and continuously improve our contract management processes. This role does not require a legal background, but it does demand strong business judgment, attention to detail, operational mindset, and experience navigating the complexities of government contracting. You will play a critical role in coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, managing contract workflows, and supporting the negotiation of commercial terms. You will be responsible for ensuring completeness and compliance across customer contracts, ensuring they align with our strategic goals and compliance requirements. Additionally, you will coordinate company resources to identify and align negotiating positions and stances. Your role is crucial in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our contracting processes and supporting our mission to provide top-tier technology to public safety agencies.
What You’ll Do
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of contracts, including intake, redlining, stakeholder review, execution, and post-signature obligations tracking.
- Coordinate with Sales, Legal, Finance, Deal Desk, Services, and Customer Success teams to ensure contracts meet internal requirements and government procurement standards.
- Support negotiations of business and commercial terms (e.g., pricing, deliverables, service levels, payment schedules) with domestic and international government customers.
- Serve as the primary owner of the contract repository and workflow tools; maintain accurate records of contract status, key terms, renewal dates, and compliance obligations.
- Help develop and maintain scalable templates, checklists, and playbooks to streamline contract execution and reduce cycle time.
- Ensure contract compliance with internal policies and government regulations, escalating legal or compliance concerns as needed.
- Assist in responding to RFPs, RFIs, and bid-related documents, ensuring proper alignment with contractual frameworks and capabilities.
- Educate internal stakeholders on best practices related to contracting processes and government procurement norms.
- Maintain accurate records for correspondence and documentation related to established contracts and those in progress.
- Communicate and present information to stakeholders about all contract-related matters.
- Address and resolve any contract-related issues that arise with other parties and internally.
- Work closely with Legal, Sales, Product, Operations, and Deployments teams to facilitate streamlined contract processes.
- Develop strategies to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Identify and improve key points in the customer journey.
- Lead and train customer service teams to ensure high-quality service.
- Analyze customer feedback and market trends to drive improvements.
What You’ll Need
- 4–7 years of experience in contracts management, deal desk, business operations, or sales operations—ideally in a B2G (business-to-government) or regulated industry.
- Solid understanding of contracting principles, especially in government environments (state/local, federal, or international).
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex workflows and coordinate across departments.
- Familiarity with contract lifecycle management systems (e.g., Ironclad, DocuSign CLM, Agiloft) and collaboration tools (e.g., Salesforce, Slack, Notion).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable reading and interpreting contract language (you don’t need to write it like a lawyer—just understand the business impact).
- Experience supporting public-sector contract negotiations or government bid responses.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks (e.g., CJIS, FedRAMP, GDPR) as they relate to contracting.
- Prior exposure to SaaS, GovTech, or technology licensing agreements.
- Project management or process improvement background (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, PMP) is a plus.
People Who Thrive Here
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and value the input and expertise from colleagues.
- Are motivated by the opportunity to contribute to mission-critical and socially responsible software that enables first responders to better serve their communities.
- Have a keen eye for detail and take pride in ensuring accuracy and compliance in all aspects of their work.
- Understand and empathize with the diverse needs of our users and are committed to providing solutions that enhance their effectiveness and safety.
- Are eager to grow your career in an environment where your achievements are celebrated, and your contributions make a tangible impact.
