Movement Experiences Intern – International Convention Operations

Internship Dates: September 2025 – March 2026

Internship Hours: 15-20 hours/week

Pay: $15.20/Hour or State Min.

We’re looking for an innovative, self-starting intern to assist the planning and logistics team as we prepare for BBYO International Convention. The ideal candidate can work independently, is hardworking and eager to learn. We will work with your college schedule!

Who We Are:

We’re a global network of passionate professionals excited to make a difference in the lives of Jewish teens. We are the Jewish community’s largest and fastest-growing pluralistic platform for reaching and inspiring Jewish teens, built on nearly a century storied history. We support over 600 local, teen-led local chapters across more than 50 countries, at more than 100-weekend retreats during the school year and across a rapidly growing suite of global exchanges, campaigns, and movement initiatives all year round. Our team is strong, agile, creative, and inclusive. We are fast-paced, high-energy and results-driven, and we enjoy working together just as much as we believe in the mission we are chasing together.

What Is International Convention (IC)?

Every Presidents’ Day weekend, BBYO brings together 5,000+ Jewish teen leaders, educators, professionals, and philanthropists for one of the largest gatherings of Jewish teens worldwide. Delegates hear from inspiring speakers, develop leadership skills, serve the local community, celebrate Shabbat, attend exclusive music performances, and shape the Jewish future.

Who You Are:

You’re a college student eager to gain hands-on experience in event operations and logistics. You enjoy organizing details, solving problems, collaborating with teammates, and seeing the behind-the-scenes work that brings a large-scale global event to life. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are energized by contributing to meaningful work.

What You’ll Do as Our Intern:

  • Strengthen your communication skills by responding to participants and families via email and phone regarding logistics, travel, and payments.
  • Build experience in data management by running reports, updating large data sets, and using CRM tools like CVENT and Airtable.
  • Develop problem-solving skills through operational research (supplies, technology, etc.) and vendor coordination (iPads, printers, walkie-talkies, rollaway beds).
  • Gain exposure to large-scale event planning through organizing inventory, creation of event specs, preparing materials, and supporting shipping logistics.
  • Support onsite readiness by working with different teams throughout IC planning and onsite, jumping in wherever extra hands are needed.
  • Collaborate directly with the Movement Experiences team to complete tasks that support IC’s success.

Why This Internship Matters:

You’ll gain real-world experience in event operations, logistics, and nonprofit operations — all while helping bring to life one of the most impactful events in Jewish teen life worldwide.

Career Pathways This Internship Supports:

This internship is ideal for students interested in pursuing careers in:

  • Event Planning & Event Operations (Conferences, Festivals, Nonprofits, Hospitality)
  • Nonprofit Management & Jewish Communal Work
  • Data & Systems Management (CRM, Reporting, Logistics Tools)

By the end of this internship, you’ll have hands-on experience in the complex logistics and teamwork required to produce a global, large-scale event. You’ll also gain professional skills in communication, collaboration, problem-solving, data management, and cross-departmental project work — all highly transferable to a variety of fields.

Role Requirements:

  • A responsible self-starter who is comfortable balancing independent work with team collaboration.
  • Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and eager to learn new systems (CVENT, Airtable).
  • Strong organizational and data entry skills.
  • Previous BBYO experience or similar youth/Jewish organization experience is a plus but not required.
  • Availability to work a minimum of 15-20 hours/week September 2025 through March2026; preference given to those available to work in BBYO’s DC office one day week
  • Available to work in-person at International Convention from Tuesday, February 10 – Monday, February 16, 2026.
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
