The Role (Your Why)

The Senior Solutions Executive for Data Centres is the second-in-command (2IC) to the leader of Datacom’s data centre sales and go-to-market (GTM) team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for closing sales opportunities while also managing the day-to-day operations of the sales team.

You will help drive sales success by coordinating sales opportunities and supporting a team of Data Centre Solutions Executives and Consultants. Your main focus will be on coaching and mentoring them to meet their sales targets. Additionally, you will play an important role in generating new leads, responding to incoming leads, and providing subject matter expertise (SME) for bids managed by other Datacom sales teams.

This position is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their leadership skills without having direct reports. You’ll receive guidance and support from the leader of Datacom’s data centre sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Achieving individual sales targets by taking ownership of assigned opportunities.

  • Meeting agreed team sales targets by supporting others as required, while championing and building a strong team culture and fostering collaboration.

  • Lead bid manager and assigning bids to the team (in consultation with the manager of sales) as required.

  • Mentoring of Solutions Executives and Solutions Consultant roles to support them to meet their individual sales targets.

  • Contracting of new customers and management of the initial handover of customers into the onboarding process with our Customer team.

  • Management of individual and team pipelines and tracking of opportunities in the Datacom.

  • Developing and managing sales initiatives to deliver tactical results.

What you’ll bring

  • Comprehensive understanding of data centre products.

  • Strong financial management and pricing practices.

  • Experience as part of a successful team to achieve sales objectives.

  • Experience in negotiating business contracts.

  • Ability to frequently interact with a variety of stakeholders and team members, normally involving matters between functional areas, other Datacom divisions, customers and the company.

  • Proven negotiating skills with the aptitude to ensure win/win situations for all parties,

  • The ability to chair meetings and provide leadership in situations with tight delivery timeframes.

  • Ability to transform customer requirements into a technical solution and work according to deadlines.

  • Excellent RFI/RFP response writing
