Data Engineer
We are looking for a talented Data Engineer with a solid background in Software Engineering to join our Marketplace Information team. This role is ideal for someone eager to grow in the field of Data Engineering while leveraging their software development skills. You will work closely with experienced data engineers and software developers to design and implement data solutions that drive our business forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Pipeline Development: Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support various business needs.
- Software Development: Utilize your software engineering skills to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in languages such as Python, Scala, or Go.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Support the management and optimization of cloud-based data infrastructure on platforms like GCP or AWS.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and software engineers, to integrate data solutions and support machine learning initiatives.
- Data Management: Help manage and optimize data storage solutions, including relational, columnar, and NoSQL databases.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new tools and technologies to enhance data processing and infrastructure efficiency.
- Learning and Development: Engage in continuous learning opportunities to expand your knowledge in data engineering and software development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in software engineering, with a keen interest in data engineering.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Scala, or Go).
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS.
- Familiarity with data processing frameworks and orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Beam, Airflow).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
