Job Title: Data Engineer

About the Role:
The Data Engineer is responsible for designing and maintaining scalable, high-performance data infrastructure that supports Unite Usβ enterprise products and analytics capabilities. This role plays a critical part in enabling efficient data ingestion, transformation, and delivery across our systems, with a focus on reliability, data quality, and support for diverse internal and external reporting needs. The engineer will build and optimize pipelines using tools such as DBT, Airflow, and Spark, and manage data across platforms like Snowflake, Redshift, and Postgres, all within an AWS environment.
Collaboration is central to this role. The Data Engineer will work closely with Solutions Architects, Product Managers, and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure that our data architecture supports evolving product requirements and enterprise client expectations. The engineer will also help maintain data systems that meet the performance, security, and scalability standards required to handle sensitive healthcare and social care datasets.
This role is strategic in shaping Unite Us’ data platform. The engineer is expected to think proactively about long-term scalability, build infrastructure as code, and design solutions that serve a broad range of stakeholders, including large enterprise clients with sophisticated data needs. Their work will directly support our ability to measure impact, demonstrate ROI, and deliver actionable insights across the Unite Us network.
What You’ll Do:
- Execute a data architecture and infrastructure to meet business objectives
- Work closely with Solutions Architects and Product Managers to make sure that the technical infrastructure can support client requirements
- Develop ETL and data pipeline solutions to load data warehouse
- Test internal data pipelines for reliability and performance
Youβre a great fit for this role if:
- Experience as a Data Engineer in which you set up data pipelines with DBT
- Experience using Airflow to create directed acyclic graphs (DAG) to orchestrate data-pipelines and processes using python
- Experience working with data warehouses, data lakes and ETL pipelines (Snowflake, Infomatica, Redshift, Postgres, SQL, etc)
- Experience with Spark using Scala
- Experience using and building solutions to support various reporting and data user tools (Chartio, Tableau, Looker, etc)
- Experience setting up and maintaining databases within AWS
- Building Infrastructure as Code
- Experience working on applications serving large enterprise clients
- Experience working on healthcare and/or social determinants of health data products
- A focus on building performant systems
- Ability to think forward and build a scalable solution that satisfies various needs of enterprise clients with dedicated data teams

Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions:
- This position is remote, U.S. based
- The target pay range for this role is: $115,000-$135,000. This salary range represents our target hiring range for this role. The proposed salary will be dependent on the candidate’s skills, experience, and competencies, as well as location
- All team members will be required to pass a background check which includes criminal, employment, and education verification
