Summary Description:
A data entry specialist enters information into a computer database for adequate record keeping. Data entry specialists must be able to type quickly and accurately and possess strong attention to detail.
Job Responsibilities
- Accurately enter patient information, clinical data, and other relevant details into the designated EHR system.
- Perform in depth review and validation of data for accuracy, completeness and consistency, ensuring all information is entered correctly.
- Maintain up-to-date records and ensure all data is entered in a timely manner.
- Verify and correct data discrepancies to ensure data integrity.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and comply with all HIPAA regulations, adhering to best practices for handling sensitive health data.
- Communicate any discrepancies,ย inconsistencies, or issues to the appropriate team members for resolution, escalating concerns when necessary.
- Perform reverse data entry tasks, ensuring accurate and timely transfer of data into EHR. Also ensuring the accuracy and completeness of data by cross referencing with EHR.
- Coordinate with IT and other relevant teams to resolve any issues related to data entry and system integration.
- Assist in the collection and management of clinical data from EHR system and coordinate with Prior Authorization team.
Skills and Education
- High School diploma or GED
- 1 year or more working in an office setting
- Strong team work capabilities, self-motivation, and reliability
- Basic computer literacy. Microsoft Office Suite experience preferred
- Reliable, must have the ability to work well in a team setting and be a self-starter
