•Typical hiring range for high cost of living locations (DC/CA/NYC): $141,323 - $188,430

Job Summary
The Director of Content Strategy is responsible for leading the strategic planning, development, execution, and governance of content across all channels and audiences. This role serves as the organization’s content architect—ensuring that all written, visual, and multimedia content is aligned with business goals, audience needs, brand voice, and search engine optimization best practices. The ideal candidate is a masterful storyteller, editor, and strategist who can translate complex ideas into compelling, engaging, and actionable content while overseeing an editorial infrastructure that supports multiple internal stakeholders, including marketing, sales, programs, and events.
Essential Functions
Content Strategy
Develop and lead a holistic, multi-channel content strategy that supports business objectives across sales, marketing, events, and programs.
Align content planning with brand strategy, marketing campaigns, and audience journey stages to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
Define and maintain the organization’s editorial standards, voice, and tone across all platforms and content types.
Work collaboratively with the Growth Marketing and Lifecycle Marketing leads to support demand generation, SEO, and lead nurturing objectives with targeted content.
Content Development
Oversee the creation, editing, and optimization of high-quality content including blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, website copy, social media content, event materials, and email communications.
Oversee the development and optimization of website content in WordPress to improve discoverability, engagement, and conversion.
Implement SEO best practices in all content types, including meta descriptions, headings, alt tags, and internal linking strategies.
Regularly update website content to ensure relevance, accuracy, and alignment with current offerings and campaigns.
Develop content capture strategies for events to support future marketing efforts, including post-event recaps, testimonials, and evergreen assets.
Serve as the final editorial gatekeeper for all external-facing written content.
Editorial Planning
Maintain a strategic editorial calendar that maps to organizational goals, campaign timelines, and cross-functional needs.
Work closely with the Director of Marketing to ensure cohesive content delivery across all verticals and departments.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather input and insights that inform content creation, particularly for sales enablement, program promotion, and event engagement.
Distribution Strategy
Develop and oversee the organization’s social media strategy to support content amplification, brand awareness, and audience engagement.
Coordinate content distribution across appropriate digital platforms, including owned channels, newsletters, social media, and third-party publications.
Monitor content performance metrics and audience engagement to refine messaging and distribution strategies.
Performance Metrics
Track and interpret content performance using analytics tools to inform future strategy and ensure continuous improvement.
Report regularly on content KPIs such as engagement, traffic, conversions, and SEO impact.
Conduct content audits and gap analyses to optimize existing assets and identify new content opportunities.

Qualifications (Licenses, Certifications, Education Related Experience, technology)
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field—or equivalent experience.
8–10 years of experience in content strategy, content marketing, or editorial leadership roles.
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills demonstrating the ability to translate strategy into compelling narratives.
Deep expertise in SEO, content lifecycle management, and omnichannel campaign planning.
Proficiency in content management systems, particularly WordPress.
Familiarity with tools such as Google Analytics, social media platforms, project management software, and digital asset management systems.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Strategic thinker with a data-informed approach and a collaborative mindset.
Experience developing content for diverse audiences with attention to inclusivity, accessibility, and brand integrity.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (call out specific programs in parenthesis)
PowerPoint presentation skills
