Job Description

We are seeking an individual to lead the enhancement and improvement of our finance applications with a special focus on SAP S/4 HANA.  This will be a director level position and a key function in our finance and accounting organization.  The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of leading similar efforts successfully in medium to large companies.  This position will spearhead efforts to identify opportunities for improving efficiency, system functionality, integration opportunities and the overall systems control environment.  This person will work collaboratively with the accounting and finance organization (the entire CFO organization) and the extended finance IT teams in discharging duties.  A deep understanding of accounting and related systems with a specialization in SAP S/4 HANA is necessary.  This position will report to the Chief Accounting Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Gain a deep understanding of the current SAP environment, as it relates to accounting and finance functions.
  • Identify areas for improvement in terms of efficiency (eliminate manual work), optimization of system capabilities, opportunities for integration and identify areas for enhancing controls and procedures.
  • Gain a deep understanding of other systems that are used by accounting and finance teams in performing their duties and the impact such systems have on finance and accounting functions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into optimal SAP solutions.
  • Participate in strategic business planning with Finance and IT teams to develop enhancement options addressing specific functional needs or issues.
  • Lead functional and technical teams throughout all phases of project lifecycles.
  • Help define and identify issues that are encountered, collect data, establish facts, and assist the team in drawing valid conclusions.
  • Stay connected with the business to plan for upcoming requirements in terms of systems and resources.
  • Understand and document inter-dependence of tasks; work across teams and exert influence, as well as drive issues to quick resolution.
  • Conduct comprehensive training sessions for end-users on new processes and solutions.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with project teams, stakeholders, and external consultants to monitor progress and resolve any issues.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices for system security and data integrity.
  • Ability to work off business hours and weekends as needed in a demanding environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance.
  • In-depth understanding of financial business processes, including GL, AR, AP, tax, treasury, consolidation, financial planning and budgeting.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and stakeholder management.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the capacity to convey information clearly and tailor messages to diverse audiences to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Profound ability to solve complex problems and drive projects to completion.
  • Advanced knowledge and utilization of Microsoft Project tools.
  • Proven ability to influence without direct reporting relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of management.
  • Executive presence.

Additional Information

For California, Colorado, New York, Washington, and remote roles: The compensation range for this role is $158,810 to $238,530. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
