CSC Generation Enterprise (CSC) is an AI-enabled multi-brand platform that acquires and transforms retailers into profitable, digital-first, consumer-centric businesses. CSC’s retail platform is purpose built around its core M&A strategy and drives alpha by encoding revenue growth, unit margin management, and other expert-level retail practices into automation and AI. CSC owns and operates more than 10 retail, eCommerce, and wholesale brands, including Sur La Table, Backcountry, and One Kings Lane.

This role is challenging – above and beyond the day-to-day responsibilities, you’ll have a big role within a fast-paced team.

This position will report into the CTO.

What you get to do every day:

  • Oversee the SLDC process from planning to deployment and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Execute Agile software development methodologies, such as Scrum and Kanban, to ensure the highest quality of deliverables.
  • Create roadmaps for each product line in collaboration with product management teams, detailing feature sets that can be achieved within a given timeline.
  • Establish engineering best practices that promote team collaboration, code reuse, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Connect with stakeholders to discuss SLDC progress reports, anticipate business objectives changes, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Oversee end-user testing from beginning to end - ensuring customer satisfaction and providing feedback on product enhancements or modifications as needed.

What you bring to the role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with 10+ years of experience in software engineering leadership.
  • Deep experience with software development and technology practices related to e-Commerce.
  • Demonstrated experience owning architecture decisions and communicating with the broader organizations on the investments needed & business value of those investments
  • Demonstrated experience building and growing teams including coaching and managing performance at an executive level
  • Experience in working with vendor software and decision points on build vs buy balancing risk and time to market
