LastPass is looking for an Engineering Manager:
In this role, you will lead a team responsible for the development and maintenance of the LastPass Authenticator mobile applications for both Android and iOS platforms.
LastPass Authenticator delivers seamless two-factor authentication for LastPass accounts and other supported applications. With one-tap verification and secure cloud backup, it combines strong security with a user-friendly experience - eliminating the hassle while keeping accounts safe.
As the team leader, you’ll play a key role in shaping the product experience, ensuring high-quality performance, and driving innovation in mobile security.
As an Engineering Manager you would:
- Lead two agile teams operating in Scrum, with full ownership of mobile feature development for the LastPass Authenticator apps.
- Ensure the teams have the necessary skills, tools, and support to successfully deliver high-quality projects.
- Set clear, measurable goals for team members and provide ongoing, constructive feedback to support growth and performance.
- Manage delivery timelines and expectations, maintaining a strong focus on both speed and quality.
- Take ownership of technical challenges, limitations, and decisions that influence product requirements and architecture.
- Support the team in identifying and removing impediments that block progress.
- Guide the teams through changing priorities, complex topics, and high-impact decisions with clarity and resilience.
- Stay connected to user needs by understanding real-world pain points and advocating for solutions that deliver meaningful customer value.

Who will you work with?
In this role, you’ll collaborate with a wide range of professionals across teams and functions to drive the success of the LastPass Authenticator apps:
- Your direct reports: A dedicated team of 7 mobile engineers - 5 Android and 2 iOS developers.
- Embedded QA professionals: 2 test automation engineers and 2 manual QA engineers who are integral to your team’s delivery.
- Your manager: The Director of Endpoint Engineering, providing strategic leadership and support.
- Peer Engineering Managers: Within your Endpoint Cluster (focused on similar technologies and domains), as well as across other clusters within the organization.
- The Product Owner: Partnering closely to ensure your team is always focused on the highest-impact priorities.
- Test & Release Manager: Working together to uphold high standards of quality and manage smooth, reliable releases.
- Architects: Collaborating on complex technical decisions and long-term architectural planning.
- Security experts: Supporting your team in maintaining and meeting security best practices and compliance standards.
- Support team members: Assisting in evaluating incoming issues, prioritizing severity, and helping the team resolve customer concerns quickly and effectively.
What are some of the exciting challenges you will be working on?
You will be responsible for managing a team of six employees, and will actively contribute to architectural discussions, project and roadmap planning, as well as decisions related to deployment and operational support.
- Recruit, hire, coach, and mentor developers within the team
- Provide regular guidance and support to direct reports through coaching and feedback
- Conduct performance reviews and deliver meaningful, constructive feedback to foster individual growth
- Support and guide career development plans tailored to each team member
- Set clear, ambitious, and achievable goals for team members
- Cultivate a positive, inclusive team environment where everyone feels valued and empowered
- Contribute to all stages of the development lifecycle: design, implementation, testing, deployment, operations, and maintenance
- Oversee and support the successful delivery of complex technical projects
- Define operational objectives and create actionable work plans to meet team goals
- Engage in strategic planning and proactively assess risks
- Collaborate with fellow managers, architects, and project managers to align team efforts with business objectives
- Develop, implement, and refine engineering policies, procedures, and standards
- Lead and manage organizational change effectively when needed
- Champion software quality and uphold engineering excellence
- Strengthen internal team culture in alignment with the broader company values
- Actively participate in and contribute to the local tech community
What does it take to work at LastPass?
As an Engineering Manager, your background will ideally include:
- Proven experience in a people management or team leadership role within engineering
- Hands-on experience in a software engineering role earlier in your career
- A strong track record of contributing to high-traffic, user-facing products
- Deep understanding of Agile methodologies and the ability to champion agile principles within the team
- A structured yet creative mindset, driving the team toward execution excellence
- Strong focus on quality and a customer-first approach
- End-to-end ownership mentality, with the ability to think and operate beyond immediate team boundaries
- Commitment to operational excellence - actively promoting shared deployment responsibilities, monitoring, incident response, and failure mode analysis
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, peers, and leadership
- Experience interacting with customers, product managers, stakeholders, and senior leaders at all levels
- Demonstrated technical leadership and proficiency in leading change
- A collaborative spirit with a proactive, can-do attitude
- Adaptability and a quick learner in dynamic environments
- Empathetic, approachable, and able to build strong team rapport
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Fluency in English
