Job description

Simbe is looking for an Enterprise Solutions Engineer to enable customers to get the very best from  innovative Tally solutions within  our customers’ existing retail ecosystems. In this role, you will act as the technical expert and trusted advisor, ensuring seamless integration of Tally into various data platforms (point of sale, inventory management, warehouse systems, workforce management systems, planogram data, etc.), orchestrating data flows, and optimizing user adoption of Simbe’s core applications, mobile app, business intelligence tools, and APIs. The ideal candidate will be equally adept at understanding complex retail operations and technologies, designing data-driven integrations, implementing solutions, and effectively communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will collaborate closely with both internal teams (Engineering, Product, Deployment, Customer Success, and Sales) and external customer/partner teams to build and deliver robust, scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Engage with retail clients to understand their store operations, backend systems, and data requirements (inventory, on-hand, POS, planogram, etc.). Assess integration points for Tally data within client’s existing IT architecture, identifying potential dependencies, risks, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Solution Design & Architecture: Define end-to-end integration strategies, including data ingestion, pre and post processing, and publishing to relevant retail systems (e.g., ERP, WMS, workforce management). Craft technical architectures that ensure Tally robot data and insights seamlessly flow into the client’s workflow, from store-level to corporate-level systems.
  • Technical Consultation & Advisory: Serve as the subject matter expert on Simbe’s products and offerings, including APIs, mobile apps, and business intelligence tools, advising clients on best practices, capabilities, and configuration options.
  • Proof of Concept (PoC) & Pilot Engagements: Develop pilot use cases and demos showcasing Tally’s data capture, analytics, and integration with client’s systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate solution feasibility, gather client feedback, and iterate quickly on PoC findings.
  • Implementation & Deployment Support: Guide the implementation process, working with internal Simbe deployment teams and client technical teams to configure integrations, set up Tally devices, and manage data flows. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption to client operations.
  • User Adoption & Change Management: Partner with Customer Success and Product teams to build robust adoption strategies, including user training, documentation, and onboarding processes. Define success metrics, monitor usage patterns, and recommend improvements to enhance user engagement and system performance.
  • Ongoing Relationship Management: Act as the technical point of contact for key stakeholders, maintaining a proactive communication channel for support, new feature requests, and system enhancements. Facilitate feedback loops to Simbe’s Product and Engineering teams to influence the product roadmap based on client needs.
  • Industry & Technology Awareness: Stay up to date with retail technology trends, standards (e.g., GS1 standards, barcode symbologies, planogram formats, workforce management integration trends), and emerging best practices. Continuously refine architecture and integration approaches to ensure efficiency, scalability, and future-proofing of solutions.

Requirements

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). 3-5 years in solutions engineering, system integration, or a similar customer-facing technical role, preferably at a SaaS company servicing the retail sector.
  • Retail Systems Expertise: Proven background working with or integrating systems like POS, ERP, WMS, workforce management, inventory management, planograms, etc. Understanding of common data schemas, batch/real-time data transfer methods, and related security considerations.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong experience with RESTful APIs, Python, SQL regex, data modeling, and system integration design patterns. Familiarity with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data pipelines (ETL, streaming, etc.). Knowledge of robotics or IoT concepts is a plus.
  • Solution Architecture & Implementation: Track record of designing and delivering integrated solutions in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. Ability to create architectural diagrams, detailed requirements documents, and user flows.
  • Project & Stakeholder Management: Experience leading cross-functional implementation projects, managing timelines, and mitigating risks. Strong customer-facing skills, capable of translating technical concepts to business value and vice versa.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence and guide decision-making with both executives and technical teams. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that requires flexibility and adaptability, making quick decisions and informing and aligning with others along the way

$100,000 - $165,000 a year
