The Geo Fiber Solutions-Hub (GFS) designs and develops highly automated planning and documentation processes incl. the associated IT systems for an industrialized FTTH expansion in Germany. For this we rely on international staff. Teams use different technologies and systems. From the planning phase through the approval phase to construction. We are responsible for the value stream of the FTTH expansion.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in software development, preferably in a similar domain
  • Proficiency in programming languages and technologies relevant to the project
  • Skills in working with cross-functional teams, especially front-end developers
  • Ability to work effectively in an international and distributed team environment
  • Agile mindset and experience working in Scrum or SAFe frameworks as part of a dev-teamΒ collaborating with product management
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Effective prioritization and task management to meet project deadlines
  • Good communication skills in English (B2) and (optionally) in German language
  • Following industry trends, attending workshops/conferences, or trainings to stay relevant in the evolving tech landscape

Necessary technical skills in detail:

  • Script-oriented programming, TypeScript, JavaScript
  • Frameworks/libraries: Node.js, Express.js
  • Relational databasesΒ (PostgreSQL), experience with complex SQL queries
  • Python 3, pytest
  • HTTP, REST API, OpenAPI
  • GitLab experience (version control, branching strategies, collaborative workflows)
  • Basic CI/CD knowledge
  • Test writing experience using Jest
  • Platform security & policies: Technical/IT security

Desirable knowledge or experience (not mandatory):

  • QGIS 3
  • GeoServer
  • AWS (S3)
  • Object-oriented programming
  • GeoData analysing Modules / Geospatial Data Analysis or Geospatial Technologies
  • Containerization (understanding of Docker)
  • Flask, FastAPI
  • Kafka
  • Database Optimization (indexing, query optimization, performance tuning)
