Job description
We’re Sweed – a product-driven software startup operating an all-in-one cannabis retail platform. We’re on the lookout for a Field Marketing Representative in NY/NJ to join our team. This job requires presence in a location that would allow daily travel in these two States.
About Us
At Sweed, we provide Software-as-a-Service solutions for cannabis retailers and leading Multi-State Operators (“MSOs”). Our enterprise-grade platform seamlessly combines POS, eCommerce, Marketing, Analytics, and Inventory Management into a single solution—eliminating the need for multiple third-party tools.
Powered by Machine Learning, our platform offers advanced predictive analytics and comprehensive business intelligence reporting.
We believe in simplicity, efficiency, and innovation. That’s why we design our products for scalability and performance—making life easier for cannabis retailers while driving real business growth.
About the Role
This role is part of the Sales Team at Sweed. We are already operational with a growing number of clients in New York and New Jersey. As part of this role, you will visit dispensaries across NY and NJ on your own schedule to promote the Sweed brand and expand our client base.
With over 300 dispensaries already open across these two states — and dozens more launching soon — there is a significant opportunity for growth.
Location
You must be based in New York or New Jersey, as the role requires frequent travel across both states.
What You’ll Be Working On
Visiting dispensaries in person with promotional materials, targeting 25+ dispensaries per week
Following up on visits with phone calls and emails
Engaging with Budtenders and dispensary employees — ideally senior management decision-makers — to introduce Sweed’s suite of products
Setting up product demos for other members of the Sales Team
What We’re Looking For
2–5 years of experience in the legal cannabis industry
Strong knowledge of software systems used by dispensaries
Hands-on experience working in dispensaries, including operating and managing product intake
Experience with CRM systems in a dispensary setting is preferred
What Else Matters?
Outgoing Personality – You will be promoting the Company’s brand and representing Sweed in every interaction
Strong Salesmanship – Able to highlight Sweed’s advantages and differentiate us from the competition
Proactivity – This is a results-driven role. Own your schedule, set goals, drive demos, and deliver results
The Team
Right now, our total team size is around 180 people, with a distributed development team located across multiple countries. Meanwhile, our CEO, account managers, and customer success team are based in the US.
Benefits
Medical, dental, vision, and other health insurance options
Paid parental leave
Paid company observed holidays
Generous paid time off
Reimbursement for laptops, monitors, travel expenses, and auto-related costs
