Job description

Hi there!

We’re Sweed, a product-driven startup building an all-in-one cannabis retail platform. We’re on the lookout for a Product Owner to join our team remotely and help us scale and optimize our platform.

About Us

At Sweed, we’re reimagining how cannabis retailers operate. Our enterprise-grade platform combines POS, eCommerce, Marketing, Analytics and Inventory Management into a single, seamless solution—eliminating the need for multiple third-party tools.

We believe in simplicity, efficiency, and innovation. That’s why we build for scalability and performance, making life easier for cannabis retailers while driving real business growth.

Why We’re Doing This

At Sweed, we believe in the medicinal potential of cannabis. It has been shown to help with chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and many other conditions. Despite the lingering stigma, we see cannabis as a powerful tool for improving lives.

The industry is evolving rapidly, and we’re here to drive that transformation—making cannabis retail more efficient, accessible, and customer-friendly.

We’ve been on the market for 6 years, continuously growing and refining our product. • Conduct market and customer research to gather insights and inform product development decisions.

  • Define and prioritize product features based on customer needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.

  • Manage the product backlog, ensuring it is up-to-date and prioritized based on business and customer impact.

  • Analyze product performance and customer feedback to make data-driven decisions and continuously improve products.

  • Perform independent business analysis of features.

  • Manage the team’s daily operations, including hiring, motivation, and performance management.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Product Owner/Product Manager role

  • Technical understanding of the product and the ability to communicate effectively with the development team.

  • Proven experience in a dynamically evolving product with constantly shifting priorities.

  • Familiarity with Kanban, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Ability to perform business analysis and project management.

  • Upper-Intermediate and higher level of English. You will need to communicate with the English-speaking part of the team, clients and write and read the documentation in English.

  • Additionally, you excel in creating exceptional products and driving metrics growth.

What Else Matters?

  • Proactivity – We love team members who take initiative and provide feedback

  • Critical thinking – We value problem-solvers who think beyond just writing code

  • Adaptability – Our industry is evolving fast, and we need people who thrive in change

The Team

We’ve structured our staff into cross-functional teams, each dedicated to a specific product. These teams typically consist of 8-12 members, including front-end and back-end engineers, QA specialists, and analysts. Each team is guided by a Team Lead and a Product Owner, ensuring smooth collaboration and clear direction.

Right now, our total team size is around 180 people, with a distributed development team located across multiple countries. Meanwhile, our CEO, account managers, and customer success team are based in the USA, working closely with us to align product development with business and user needs.
