Job description

Founding Software Engineer - Vimes

👯 ABOUT US

In the U.S., every 1 in 3 children are at risk of child abuse, 1 in 4 women at risk of domestic violence, and 1 in 6 elders are at risk of elder abuse. Why? Because of the massive inefficiencies in our government agencies (schools, hospitals, police, protective services, non-profits, etc). There is no standard communication platform, uniform metric of risk assessment, or digital procedure for data strorage. We built Vimes to fix this: crisis intervention software to close gaps in government welfare.

We started out in child abuse, setting out to end all preventable child deaths by making sure at-risk children get the support they need. In just 12 months, we created a new national standard for assessing child risk, published an academically validated whitepaper, and created a cross-platform webapp/app system. Through automated form reporting, secure messaging and information exchange, and live analytics and database tracking, we bring response time for child welfare from on average 40 days to 12 hours. We now have six active pilots serving 320K citizens, and recently closed a $2.2M pre-seed. In the long run, Vimes envisions becoming the universal system of record for all vulnerable populations, becoming a central hub for data and communications among all agencies.

We have a pipeline of 30+ cities, 15 states, and may cross $10M revenue barrier in the next 12 months. As we scale 10x and we’re looking for talented technical engineers to join us.
