About the role:
As General Counsel, you will be responsible for owning and scaling the legal function at Recare. You will serve as a trusted advisor to the leadership team and be the go-to person for all legal and compliance matters. You’ll lead complex legal work in-house — such as M&A due diligence, termsheet negotiations, and strategic contracts — while also ensuring operational legal needs across the organization are managed reliably and pragmatically.
This is a highly visible role with both strategic and operational scope — perfect for a senior legal professional who enjoys a dynamic, high-growth environment but also values hands-on implementation across legal domains.
This is what you can expect from us as a General Counsel:
Work with Purpose - Your work has a real impact on patients and healthcare professionals in the medical field.
Corporate Culture - We embrace structures that foster high performance and strong team dynamics. Our interactions are characterized by mutual respect, loyalty, and recognition. We work together towards common goals and expect the same from you.
Flexibility - Would you like to pick up your child from daycare? Do you enjoy exercising during lunchtime? We support you in achieving that balance. Besides flexible working hours, as a remote-first company we offer the flexibility to work 100% remotely across Germany, and following prior agreement, you’re welcome to take workations.
Edenred card - Which you can use in the way that suits you best.
Professional Development - Your professional development is important to us. We are dedicated to your success and job satisfaction.
Extra Day Off on Your Birthday - So you can celebrate with your loved ones.
This is how you will make an impact as a General Counsel:
Serve as the internal point of contact for all legal questions from across teams (Product, Sales, People, etc.).
Provide legal guidance to the CEO and executive team on corporate governance, M&A, fundraising, and strategic partnerships.
Independently negotiate and draft key agreements, including investor termsheets, MSAs, SaaS agreements, employment-related contracts, DPAs, and more.
Manage and limit external counsel involvement by bringing high-value legal work in-house.
Be responsible for all compliance efforts, including GDPR, health data regulation, and internal audits.
Take ownership of data privacy processes and documentation (DPO responsibilities or external interface).
Drive contract lifecycle management, including scalable templates and efficient approval processes.
Contribute legal expertise to AI product development and regulatory positioning.
Act as a partner to People, Product, and Business teams, balancing legal risk with business needs.
Requirements
Your profile:

7+ years of relevant experience, preferably a mix of top-tier law firm and in-house roles (ideally in tech, healthtech, or platform businesses).

Deep practical knowledge of contract law, data protection (GDPR), and corporate governance.
Additional experience in one or more of the following areas is a strong plus:
Employment law
Competition law
AI and digital health regulation

Business-savvy mindset: You bring pragmatism, clarity, and a sense of proportionality to legal issues.
Fluency in German and English (written and spoken).
What you bring beyond law:
A solution-oriented, collaborative approach to working across disciplines.
Ability to communicate clearly with both legal and non-legal stakeholders.
Willingness to dive into new legal areas quickly, even if not part of your core expertise.
A high level of independence, ownership, and reliability.
We’re looking forward to hearing from you!
