We are seeking a Health, Safety, and Compliance Manager who will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing health, safety, and compliance programs to ensure a safe workplace and adherence to regulatory requirements. This role focuses on mitigating workplace hazards, enforcing compliance with industry regulations, and fostering a culture of safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. The HSC Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance safety practices, improve regulatory compliance, and maintain an efficient work environment.
What you will be doing:
Health, Safety & Compliance Leadership
- Develop and implement comprehensive health, safety, and compliance (HSC) programs, ensuring alignment with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and compliance inspections to proactively identify hazards and areas for improvement.
- Oversee incident reporting, investigation, and corrective action implementation to prevent future occurrences.
- Develop emergency response and spill containment plans, conducting regular safety drills.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials per regulatory standards.
Training & Employee Engagement
- Lead safety training programs, including HAZCOM, PPE usage, Lockout/Tagout, and emergency preparedness.
- Foster a safety-first culture by actively engaging employees and leadership in best practices.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for operational safety, compliance, and regulatory changes.
Regulatory Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure all policies, procedures, and operational activities comply with OSHA, EPA, and other industry regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspections, incidents, training, and compliance reports.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of safety and compliance initiatives.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance workplace safety and operational efficiency.
Facility & Equipment Compliance
- Partner with Facilities and Operations teams to ensure new and existing locations meet safety, compliance, and operational standards.
- Provide expertise on facility expansions, layout designs, and process improvements from an HSC perspective.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in health, safety, and compliance management within distribution, manufacturing, or warehouse environments.
- Certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other safety and compliance regulations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to conduct audits, risk assessments, and safety training sessions.
- Proficiency in Google Suite and EHS management software.
- Office and warehouse environment with occasional (~25%) travel to job sites.
- Ability to stand, walk, and conduct physical inspections as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks and drug screening.
Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000 based on degree of experience
