Job Title: Inventory Analyst/Planning Lead

Location: Remote

Reports To: Supply Chain Manager

Work Shift: ACT

Working Hours: 20 hours per week

Rate: $10/ hour

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Inventory Analyst/Planning Lead to drive production planning and forecasting while managing key logistics functions. This role will coordinate closely with warehouse operations, support inbound shipments from vendors, challenge the performance of third-party logistics (3PL) providers, and review contracts to identify cost reduction opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, excellent analytical skills, and a proven ability to optimize inventory management processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Planning & Forecasting:

    • Develop, monitor, and update production plans based on forecasted demand.
    • Collaborate with production teams to ensure alignment between forecasts and manufacturing capacities.
    • Use historical data, market trends, and customer inputs to refine forecast accuracy.
  • Logistics & Inventory Management:

    • Utilize logistics expertise to manage and optimize inventory levels across multiple channels.
    • Oversee and coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure accurate and timely inventory management.
    • Ensure proper documentation and control of inbound shipments from vendors.
  • Vendor & 3PL Coordination:

    • Act as the primary liaison for inbound shipments from vendors, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards.
    • Challenge and continuously evaluate the performance of third-party logistics providers to meet service level agreements (SLAs) and drive improvements.
    • Collaborate with external partners to implement best practices in logistics and inventory handling.
  • Contract Review & Cost Reduction:

    • Review and analyze existing logistics and vendor contracts with a focus on cost reduction and performance improvements.
    • Propose and implement changes to contract terms and service delivery that benefit overall supply chain efficiency.
    • Negotiate with vendors and 3PL partners to secure favorable terms and achieve strategic cost savings.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field.

  • Proven experience (typically 3+ years) in inventory analysis, production planning, or logistics management.

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating with warehouse operations and managing vendor relationships.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and trends for decision-making.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills; experience with supply chain software is a plus.

  • Ability to challenge status quo and drive continuous improvement in processes and performance.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • A proactive mindset with the ability to independently manage multiple projects and priorities.
