Job Description:
As a lead SDET, you are a leader of the team who will drive quality and testing strategies at a high level. You will lead testing and automation efforts, mentor junior engineers, and take ownership of the test architecture. This role requires advanced expertise in test automation, continuous improvement, and a strategic approach to quality across the product lifecycle.
What You’ll Do:
- Own automation frameworks employed by the various application development teams.
- Standardize the automated testing approach across teams.
- Drive quality standards, enforce best practices, and guide team members in test methodology.
- Anticipate technical issues and industry changes and ensure our approach aligns with best practices and acceptable efficiency levels.
- Drive automation updates following root-cause analysis on complex issues and provide actionable recommendations and implementations.
- Mentor and support junior team members, facilitating training and knowledge sharing.
- Participate in engineering team design discussions, advocating for testability.
- Track and respond to quality metrics such as test coverage, defect escape rates, and automation efficiency to continuously improve testing outcomes.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM field, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in quality/automation engineering.
- Demonstrated expertise with OOP, .NET technologies, including C#, ASP.NET, API development, and .NET Core is a strong plus.
- Extensive experience in constructing test automation for web applications (encompassing both UI and API functionality), console applications, Windows forms applications, and/or cloud infrastructure deployments (experience with containerization technologies a plus).
- Deep understanding and documented efficient use of widely used testing frameworks like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or RestAssured.
- Proven experience working within Agile and Scrum software development methodologies.
- Experience with the Azure cloud platform and cloud-native design principles, particularly regarding platform services such as App Services, Functions and Monitoring tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Application Insights).
- Experience with relational database technologies, particularly Microsoft SQL Server.
- Proficiency in utilizing modern CI/CD technologies, like Azure DevOps & Azure DevOps Pipelines to streamline development and testing workflows.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey and share technical concepts with leadership at various levels of technical expertise.
- Foundational understanding of crafting clear, concise, and thorough test plans and test cases.
- Familiarity with ERP, financial or mission-critical SaaS applications is considered an asset.
- Prior experience with system load, scale testing, or performance testing automation are nice to have.
- Experience working on cross-functional teams and maintaining complex testing projects.
- Proficiency in English at a B2+ level or higher (CEFR), with the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken formats.
