We are looking for a Learning Consultant to work with clients as part of our Learning & Strategy Consulting team. Learning Consultants help customers deepen and elevate their use of Instructure products to meet pedagogical goals across their organization by offering planning, customized consultation, and targeted coaching.  With an aim to increase platform adoption, student engagement, and other specific initiatives, the team tailors both content and the customer experience to support institutions.

This position will focus specifically on working in our Business/Government sector with institution leaders, administrators, and staff to effectively use Instructure products to meet the organization’s instructional goals.  Providing exceptional customer service to maintain strong relationships will be critical in this role.  A successful Learning Consultant will increase and enhance Canvas use across the organization and create opportunities for the organization to sustain their use after the consulting period is over.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Deliver online webinars, onsite training, and participating in other training scenarios as dictated by the needs of the company.
  • Develop and maintain content necessary to support delivery of training, including but not limited to: course content creation and asynchronous training video development
  • Act as an agent of change within the organization to implement district vision and goals for Instructure products.
  • Use data effectively and follow an inquiry process to share your analysis of challenges, apply targeted strategies, and elevate the teaching and learning.
  • Mentor and motivate institution leaders, administrators, and staff on all things Canvas, and inspire faculty to achieve unparalleled awesomeness with Canvas.
  • Listen to instructional needs of the client and help to meet those needs with Canvas.
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct consulting sessions using appropriate tools and organizational skills.  Help clients make connections between Canvas usage and instructional best practices.
  • Follow-up with clients after sessions to monitor progress and promote success.
  • Collaborate with other team members, Instructure employees, and clients.
  • Prepare amazing help documents, incredible course materials, and superstar presentations to support the client.
  • Identify areas where additional support, training, or consulting are needed.

HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW/HAVE:

  • At least one year of Canvas experience, but more is preferred.
  • At least one year of Canvas Credentials experience, or equivalent badging platform preferred.
  • Working in the Business/Government sector within education.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Educational Technology, Business, or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of technology adoption strategies and educational technology best practices.
  • Creative thinker with strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and be comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Experience with delivering awe-inspiring presentations in an educational environment to a wide variety of audiences and learner styles.
  • Ability to keep consulting sessions fresh, fun, effective, and relevant.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be self-driven and react promptly to project adjustments and alterations.
  • Ability to use web conferencing technologies and web based tools like Gmail, Google Docs and Google Calendar to coordinate, manage and facilitate consulting sessions.
  • Project management experience, particularly focused on time management, prioritization and multitasking.
  • Cooperative attitude and willingness to take direction and accept support from others.
  • This is a field-based position that requires travel, so ideally you’ll be based somewhere close to a major airport.
  • Enthusiasm about significant travel is a must. Travel demand varies from week to week.
