Job summary:

We are seeking a collaborative and hands-on Lead, Learning Technology to manage and support the Learning Technology (LT) team in delivering high-quality online learning solutions.

This role is pivotal in ensuring our learning platforms and tools are effectively used to bring learning design to life across multiple projects and clients. The Lead, Learning Technology provides day-to-day team leadership, technical guidance, workload coordination, and operational oversight.

A critical focus of this role is to enable your team to work smarter and more efficiently — including leveraging Generative AI (GenAI) tools and practices to drive productivity, creativity, and operational excellence. In partnership with the GenAI Solution Architect, you will help embed AI-enhanced practices into Learning Technology workflows as well as across the company.

This is a hands-on role — perfect for someone who enjoys leading a team, has a passion for learning technology, and is excited about the potential of AI to transform how work gets done.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & People Management:

  • Manage, support and coach the Learning Technology team across multiple learning platforms (e.g. Canvas, EdX, LMS tools, LTI integrations).
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and growth-oriented team culture.
  • Support professional development and technical upskilling within the team.

GenAI Enablement:

  • Champion the use of GenAI tools and approaches within the Learning Technology team.

  • Partner with the GenAI Solution Architect to:

    • Identify relevant GenAI tools and use cases for Learning Technology workflows.
    • Support experimentation, testing and adoption of GenAI tools in the team.
    • Gather feedback and insights on tool usage and impact.
  • Build confidence, capability, and ethical best practice in GenAI use within the team and across the company.

  • Share learnings and contribute to organisation-wide GenAI knowledge-sharing

Operational Planning and Resource Coordination:

  • Allocate project work effectively across the LT team.
  • Monitor team capacity, flag risks, and coordinate resourcing needs.
  • Communicate proactively with Delivery Leads and Project Managers regarding team workload

Collaboration and Stakeholder Support:

  • Work closely with Project Managers, Learning Designers, and other key internal stakeholders to deliver cohesive learning solutions.
  • Provide advice and recommendations on technology solutions within projects.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration between Learning Technology and other teams.

Technology Enablement & Best Practice

  • Provide guidance on the effective use of learning technologies across projects.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, templates, and ways of working — including leveraging GenAI to enhance efficiency.
  • Support the creation of training materials, documentation, and knowledge resources for both the LT team and project teams

Issue Resolution and Escalation Support

  • Act as a point of escalation for LT-related challenges within projects.
  • Support timely, solutions-focused issue resolution in partnership with Delivery Leads

What does success look like?

  • An engaged, skilled, and collaborative Learning Technology team.

Efficient, consistent, and high-quality LT delivery across projects.

  • The smart, ethical, and effective use of GenAI tools embedded within LT workflows.
  • Strong collaboration and trust with internal project teams and stakeholders.

You have:

  • 3+ years’ experience working in a Learning Technology, EdTech, or related technical delivery role.
  • Exposure to or experience with GenAI tools in a work context (desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of LMS platforms (Canvas, EdX, or similar), web-based technologies, and digital learning tools.
  • Demonstrated people management or team leadership experience.
  • Tertiary qualification in EdTech, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (advantageous).

Skills and attributes:

  • Passionate about the intersection of technology and learning.
  • Curious and proactive about new technologies, especially GenAI.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and technical guidance skills.
  • Relationship-builder with clear, empathetic communication skills.
  • Organised and able to manage team workflows in a dynamic environment.
  • Coaching mindset with a commitment to growing team capability.
  • Team player, collaborative and adaptable.
