Your Impact.

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will have an opportunity to lead a cross-functional team creating new experiences to deliver Joy to our members. You will enhance our SaaS solution, scale highly distributed systems, and continuously improve our engineering practices. You will get to work with the latest software practices and technologies such as microservices architecture, cloud design patterns, automated CI/CD pipeline, Kubernetes, and AWS.  Above all, your work will impact people’s interactions with the healthcare system.

  • Lead a talented team of software and QA engineers to deliver innovative, high-quality products based on architectural and engineering excellence
  • Guide software engineers through planning, designing, coding, delivery, and support, driving the day-to-day technical decisions
  • Own and continually improve the throughput and stability of product delivery and application lifecycle
  • Collaborate with product management and design during product discovery to create amazing solutions for all our users
  • Collaborate with staff engineers to ensure solutions delivered integrate well with the rest of the HealthJoy platform.
  • Manage metrics for product delivery and developer performance
  • Recruit, grow, and retain engineering top talent
  • Coach individual contributors and technical leads to grow them
  • Be the conduit between your team and business stakeholders.
  • Encourage a collaborative environment to deliver high-quality, reliable and well-tested features
  • Champion HealthJoy values within your team.

Your Experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of software development experience.
  • 3+ years of managing software development teams.
  • Hands-on leadership experience going into the details for software design, code, build, test, deploy, and support.
  • 5+ years of hands development experience utilizing python
  • 5+ years of experience with relational database design, development and optimization.
  • Working knowledge of kubernetes is a plus
  • Working knowledge on AWS infrastructure is a plus
  • Hands-on experience mentoring engineers to build scalable, resilient, consumer-facing mobile and web distributed solutions.
  • Experience in leading engineers through technical impediments and production support.
  • Experience with US healthcare is a plus.
  • Experience, interest with AI development tools is a plus

Total Rewards

Job Level: 50

Base Compensation Range for Job Level: $175,000-200,000 Annually

The cash compensation above includes base salary only. Certain roles are eligible for additional cash incentives such as commission, annual bonus targets, overtime pay or other variable incentives.

HealthJoy maintains a comprehensive strategy to determine rewarding and competitive packages for individual compensation for new hires, internal promotions and internal job changes. This strategy is based on several factors unique to each individual, including: 1) the skills, experience and qualifications of the individual; 2) the responsibilities and demands of the role; 3) analysis of external market data; and 4) company budget and financial performance.

HealthJoy is a remote-first employer. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

At HealthJoy, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each role and individual.
