A web-based platform and teaching tools for English Language Learner educators and students in K-12.

About Ellevation Education

We founded Ellevation in 2011 to provide a web-based platform for K-12 English Language Learner (EL) educators and their students. Our platform is a comprehensive ELD solution, currently used by over 1,700 districts in more than 50 states, reaching 2.5 million EL students across 26,000+ schools.

Our services include EL program management tools, benchmark assessments through Ellevation Benchmark, and research-based teaching strategies. The platform combines real-time student data with key program tasks like identification, placement, and planning. We help educators track student growth, offering best-practice activities and differentiated support for classroom instruction. We also provide professional learning modules with proven instructional frameworks.

We partner with data and assessment organizations such as ESD (eSchoolData), iReady, Clever, WIDA, NWEA Map, TestHound, and LAS Links. Our goal is to improve instruction and promote educational equity.

Our mission is to help English learners achieve their highest aspirations, and we are dedicated to educational equity for all.

Our core values are:

  • Impact + Sustainability
  • Go and See

Team & Culture

We are a remote-first workplace with teams distributed across the U.S. Our team of 51-200 employees includes former English learner educators and technology experts.

Our culture is mission-driven; we prioritize work that creates positive change. We value cross-team collaboration, open communication, and celebrate our partners’ success. We foster a strong community where every voice is heard and valued, supported by company offsites focused on building relationships. We collaborate through team meetings, asynchronous communication, and in-person offsites.

We promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) through company-sponsored Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and a consultative group called DEIB ELLiance. This group works to identify and implement practices that create a workplace where everyone feels they belong.
