Energy Solutions is seeking a Manager FP&A. The Manager will work directly with the Senior Director of FP&A and Treasurer as a business partner who develops a strong understanding of the Company and is able to present risks, opportunities and recommendations. The Manager of FP&A independently collects and analyzes key data to support the Company’s strategic decision making and overall mission. They will manage the preparation and analysis of budgets, forecasts, financial summaries and develop financial pro forma models throughout the company including project profitability, capital expenditures, cash flows and new business models.
Energy Solutions’ core clients are utilities and governmental entities, so any experience in and knowledge of administrative, energy, or utility business models is desirable. Our company’s product offering relate to alternative energy and energy conservations programs and any experience in these areas are a plus. We are also seeing increased opportunities for the provision of our services in overseas markets and experience associated with overseas operations is helpful. The Manager FP&A is expected to be a high-performing self-starter who has a keen eye for details, fosters a collaborative environment, and seeks to continuously improve processes.
Energy Solutions operates as a predominantly remote workforce with offices in six different locations. Employees who reside within 40 miles of an office (except New York) will be assigned to that location, though in-office attendance requirements may vary by team. At this time, we are not accepting applications from candidates residing in the following states: Alaska, Delaware, Kentucky, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Wyoming.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Strategic thought partner for the Senior Director of Financial Planning & Analysis and Treasurer on any cash, budget, forecasting, or profitability issues.
- Manage and lead the budget/forecast including Income Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow statements, and presentation of the budget which allows leadership to understand all opportunities, risks, and necessary action.
- Lead in the development of pro forma analysis/profitability templates for projects and capital expenditures.
- Collaboratively, work across departments to gather financial information and provide financial guidance and support.
- Design and drive detailed financial analysis and make recommendations to departments and senior management to support decision making and strategy.
- Drive continuous improvement in the financial planning and forecasting and improve processes to allow for controls and structure as the company experiences high growth.
- Supervise, develop, and motivate a small team of finance professionals.
- Complete any other duties/ special projects assigned by the Senior Director of Financial Planning & Analysis and Treasurer.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS/BA in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Financial Planning positions of increasing responsibility.
- Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience with financial statement analysis, financial metrics and understanding basic GAAP accounting principles.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, primarily Excel.
- Proven track record of demonstrating intellectual curiosity, problem solving, business acumen and enthusiasm.
- Hands-on manager with the ability to proactively respond to requests while ensuring all deliverables are met on time.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills. Proven ability to collaborate across teams, functions and departments.
- Ability to work well with a team and also thrive independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or equivalent required
- Knowledge of Workday Financials a plus.
Compensation to commensurate with experience with the pay band of $130,000 to $150,000/Annually
