Note: This job is primarily remote, with 10% travel required. Starting salary range of $93,600 - $104,600. Salary range is based on Washington, D.C./DMV area. Compensation will be adjusted for other geographic locations.

Reporting to the Director, Operations and Technology, the Manager, Technology is responsible for ensuring the effective use of technology across the Council by leading system administration, staff training, and data hygiene efforts. This role strengthens the organization’s IT infrastructure by driving tool adoption, advancing data strategy, maintaining secure and efficient systems, and collaborating across teams and with vendors to meet evolving technology needs.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as the lead administrator for the Council’s Salesforce/NimbleAMS environment, responsible for system configuration, data management, integration maintenance, managing sandbox and production environments to support testing and deployment, and supporting analytics needs.

  • Coordinates Salesforce development efforts with external consultants and developers, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.

  • Serves as an internal expert on Microsoft O365 tools, providing training, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, and recommending features that enhance productivity across the remote-first team.

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and documentation for internal systems, workflows, and technology use across the Council.

  • Lead staff training and user education on new and existing tools, promoting effective use and adoption across a remote-first environment.

  • Act as a technical resource to staff, providing support and troubleshooting to ensure all systems, applications, and devices function efficiently.

  • Monitor and coordinate regular maintenance of IT equipment, hardware, and software, working with external vendors as needed to ensure up-to-date systems.

  • Support the exploration, evaluation, and implementation of new IT tools and platforms, ensuring alignment with staff needs and organizational goals.

  • Lead data hygiene efforts across departments, coordinating responsibilities, identifying opportunities for automation, and ensuring consistent, high-quality data practices.

  • Contribute to the advancement of the Council’s data strategy, including participating in platform design, configuration, and functionality enhancements.

  • Analyze system usage and user feedback to identify opportunities for improved workflows, increased efficiency, and enhanced platform functionality.

  • Support cybersecurity practices, including managing staff awareness activities and ensuring platform-level security protocols are implemented and maintained.

  • Serve as a technical advisor to the Director, Operations and Technology, offering recommendations and insights on system and org-wide tech needs.

  • Collaborate across the Council to ensure IT solutions are responsive to programmatic and operational needs.

  • Support the implementation of new technology related projects, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 years of professional experience in IT systems administration, technology operations, or a related role, preference given to experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or administering platforms such as Salesforce, Microsoft O365, and other common workplace tools (e.g. collaboration, data, or project management platforms).
  • Salesforce Administrator or Microsoft O365 certifications valued but not required.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, data management and hygiene practices, and integrations between systems is strongly preferred.

  • Experience or ability to use CRM database solutions, preferably Salesforce.
  • Proficient skill in Microsoft Office 365 applications.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
