  • Collaborate with the firewall engineering team to:
    • Identify and validate unused firewall rules
    • Assist in cleanup of legacy and redundant rule sets
    • Ensure seamless policy migration into the new Palo Alto architecture
  • Remove obsolete static routes and deprecated configurations from DMZ switches to improve security posture and simplify operations.
  • Prepare network infrastructure to support the rollout of Palo Alto firewalls, including interface configurations, VRFs, and routing redistribution planning.
  • Validate connectivity post-migration and support troubleshooting as needed.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for routing tables, switch configurations, and firewall policies.
  • Ensure compliance with internal network and security standards, regulatory requirements, and change management processes.
  • Provide troubleshooting support during and after migration events.

Skills required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering with a focus on routing and firewall environments.
  • Must have prior Pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with BGP, static routing, and Cisco or Juniper switch configurations.
  • Familiarity with DMZ network design, network segmentation, and perimeter security principles.
  • Knowledge of Checkpoint and Palo Alto
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Comfortable working after hours or weekends during cutover events.
