OPENSHIFT ADMINISTRATOR (100% remote)
ARC Group has an immediate opportunity for an Openshift Admin for a remote position with a client based in FL. The Administrator will have 3 or more years of experience on Redhat Openshift clusters supporting 3.x environments. This is starting out as a 6-month contract position with the strong potential to extend or convert to a FTE. The Openshift Administrator position is 100% remote and working in the eastern time zone during core business hours. OpenShift Administrator
100% Remote
OpenShift Administrator Job Description:
The OpenShift Administrator will be responsible for all day-to-day aspects of the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, including Installation, configuration, patching, security, monitoring and support. OpenShift Admin will work closely with system administrators, architects, developers, and operations teams to troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues within the OpenShift platform. Participates as part of a technical team responsible for the overall support and management of the OpenShift container domain. Participates on projects in which they are required to with multiple applications teams.
OpenShift Administrator Job Requirements:
- 5+ years experience supporting Red Hat OpenShift clusters, containers, Docker images and pods. Must having good experience in PaaS offerings.
- Administration of OpenShift cluster on VmWare infrastructure
- Strong Linux Administration experience.
- Experience planning, designing and building out clusters using CoreOS, deployments of pods, and administration.
- Ability to install, configure and support Red Hat OpenShift Cluster 3.x in a large scale enterprise environment.
- Prometheus monitoring for the OpenShift Platform.
- Experience with Jenkins, Gitlab
- Experience rolling out patches for security and applications.
- Work with teams to support CI/CD tools
- Proactively monitor and report performance utilization of assigned technologies.
- Troubleshoot software and/or hardware issues/failures.
- Proactively monitors and identifies broader, more complex issues across multiple, integrated, connecting technologies and communicate as appropriate.
- Contributes input into infrastructure architecture and ensures infrastructure architecture is implemented as intended.
- Documentation of installation, maintenance and operational procedures for software and other technologies in the area of responsibility.
- Performs on-call activities as needed for the environment and technologies.
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration is plus
OpenShift Administrator Required Education:
Related Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field or relevant work experience
OpenShift Administrator MUST HAVE SKILLS:
- 3+ years of Red Hat Linux Administration exp.
- 3+ years’ experience in design, implementation, monitoring and troubleshooting messaging infrastructure in a Linux environment.
- Experience working in a regulated environments where Audits/Compliance must be adhered to
- Experience supporting applications running on Docker and Kubernetes is plus
- Experience with RHCSA and RHCE certification is preferred.
