Founded in 2013, Illumio operates in the Computer and Network Security industries, focusing on ransomware and breach containment. We help organizations contain cyberattacks and enable operational resilience by stopping the spread of attacks within hybrid multi-cloud environments. Our breach containment platform is powered by an AI security graph and enables Zero Trust security.

The platform’s architecture is designed for modern threats. Our platform includes two main components:

Illumio Insights This AI cloud detection and response solution helps us identify risks, detect attacks, and contain threats with rich analysis, deep observability, and one-click containment. It includes an AI teammate, Insights Agent, for real-time threat detection, smart remediation guidance, and automatic security gap closure. This system spots threats, prioritizes them, and stops critical threats instantly at cloud scale.

Illumio Segmentation This secures critical assets, workloads, and devices across cloud, endpoint, and data center environments. It allows us to map dependencies, visualize communication and traffic flows across the hybrid cloud to eliminate blind spots and prioritize risks. Users can proactively enforce security policies to prevent lateral movement, stop ransomware, and isolate compromised systems, increasing cyber resilience through least-privilege security policies.

We focus on reducing the impact of breaches through containment, acknowledging that breaches are inevitable. We assist security leadership in reducing risk and demonstrating ROI. We help infrastructure security teams unify protection and close critical gaps, and support security operations in exposing real threats and reducing false positives.

In 2024, Forrester named us a Leader in Microsegmentation.
