Position Summary
The People Operations Business Partner supports the Manager of People Operations and their team in developing and executing strategies that fosters strong manager support. This position is a key role responsible for organizing and leading weekly and/or monthly meetings with HR and managers. In this role the POBP communicates leadership goals and supports managers. The POBP strengthens relationships between HR and managers across all business units.
Key responsibilities include creating a strategic liaison between people operations and department leaders. This position’s responsibilities encompass employee relations, manager support for compliance with training, onboarding, and development of talent, while ensuring managers are in alignment with Nava’s mission and values. Through this work, the People Operations Business Partner helps create a fair, inclusive, and psychologically safe work environment. What You’ll Do
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Assists in providing guidance to supervisors and managers on employee development, skills, and competencies, ensuring adherence to contractual and legal guidelines.
- Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
- Manager Engagement
- May act as a mediator between employees, and managers.
- Proactively responds to employees’ policy questions.
- Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation to managers.
- Provides guidance and input on business unit needs, workforce planning and succession planning. Follow up with managers with employees at risk.
- Assists with executing onboarding training.
- Assists managers to improve the employee experience onboarding to projects.
- Evaluates data on annual hours, onboarding surveys, and probationary reviews.
Required skills
- 5+ years of people services and human resources experience.
- Thorough knowledge of people operations and human resources principles and applicable federal and state regulations.
- Strong competency with benefit and leave administration.
- Strong competency with HRIS systems.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Extraordinary discretion, confidentiality, flexibility, and willingness to work closely with a cross-functional team.
- Proficiency in GSuite, Slack, Zoom, Excel, Apple computers, and other tools used to support a remote-work environment.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

$101,600 - $114,300 a year
Other requirements
All roles at Nava require the following:
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Must meet any other requirements for government contracts for which candidates are hired.
Work authorization that doesn’t require visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
May be subject to a government background check or security clearance, depending on the contract.
