Job description
Weβre looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Jira Specialist to help us clean up and restructure our Jira backlog, while also supporting our product and leadership teams in implementing scalable agile practices. This role starts as a 4 months project but has the potential to grow into a longer-term hybrid role combining elements of Business Analyst, Scrum Assistant, and Product Owner support.
What You’ll Do
Clean & Organize Jira Backlog
- Audit and restructure existing tickets (epics, stories, bugs, tasks) for clarity, consistency, and relevance.
- Merge duplicates, archive outdated items, and ensure all backlog items align with agile best practices.
- Write new tickets and epics based on conversations with the Product Owner and understanding of historical context.
Formalize Jira Usage Standards
- Help define and document standards for Jira ticket creation, formatting, and field usage.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure the backlog supports smooth agile workflows.
Scrum & Product Support
- Join scrum meetings as needed to monitor adherence to Jira ticket standards and provide updates.
- Act as a second set of eyes for the Product Owner: tracking updates, spotting issues in ticket quality, and escalating gaps.
- Translate conversations and ideas into actionable user stories or epics.
Documentation & Reporting
- Help maintain high-quality documentation and dashboards within Jira or Confluence.
- Assist in maintaining Jira data integrity for reporting and planning purposes.
What Weβre Looking For
- 2β4 years of experience working in Agile environments (Scrum preferred)
- Proven experience writing detailed user stories, epics, and bug tickets
- Solid working knowledge of Jira Software (Cloud) and backlog grooming best practices
- Strong written and spoken English level.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and ask the right questions to move things forward
- Highly organized, analytical, and proactive, you like fixing messy systems and bringing structure.
