Overall purpose and responsibilities of the role:

As a Protection Relay Application Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the team’s objectives by providing technical expertise on protection relay products to both internal and external stakeholders. You will serve as a subject matter expert, delivering effective solutions to ensure optimal product performance and high levels of customer satisfaction.

A central responsibility of this role is to build and maintain customer trust and confidence in the company’s products by delivering exceptional technical support and service. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging presentations and product demonstrations for all company Power Protection Segment products.

  • Conduct comprehensive training sessions for end-users on Protection Relay products.

  • Develop and prepare detailed product specifications, evaluations, and comparisons.

  • Create informative application notes, guides, and case studies to support product understanding and use.

  • Perform product validation and site evaluations to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction.

  • Provide valuable technical insights to aid in product improvement and development efforts.

  • Design and prepare PowerPoint presentations that effectively communicate technical information about Protection Relay products.

  • Troubleshoot issues as needed to ensure the proper functioning of Protection Relay products.

  • Assist management in coordinating team activities, supporting development initiatives, and formulating strategic plans.

  • Conduct risk and safety assessments for on-site demonstrations and training sessions to ensure safe and efficient operations.

  • Offer   optimal   value   solutions   and   propose   alternative   approaches   to   meet   customer   needs   and requirements.

  • Suggest   innovative   techniques,   new   ideas,   and   emerging   trends   to   enhance   the   functionality   and performance of Protection Relay products.

  • Implement strategies aligned with the goals of the EA TSG team to drive success and growth.

  • Take ownership of projects or tasks assigned by management, ensuring timely and effective execution.

  • Collaborate   effectively   with   team   members   to   achieve   collective   goals   and   improve   overall   team performance

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering

  • At least minimum of 5 years related experience and exposure in Protection Relay.

  • Knowledgeable on safety rules and regulation when it comes to substation testing

  • Experience on Substation or Protection Relay (Required)

  • Knowledgeable on different standards for Protection Relay Testing

  • Knows the basic electrical tests for Protection Relay

  • Knowledgeable on advance Protection Relay testing is a plus

  • Can do presentations and actual demos on Protection Relay testing

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

  • With excellent communication skills – oral and writing

  • Team player and can work harmoniously with teammates

Additional Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledgeable on IEC61850 is a plus
  • Familiar with company Relay Tester or any other brand is a plus
  • Knowledgeable on MS software (e.g. Excel, word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to multi-task and work within a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel during the year (minimal travel envisioned)

Job type: Permanent

Emp type: Full time / Direct hire

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday - 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Occasionally, once or twice a year, for Night Shift schedule (client support) – on a case-by-case basis.

Location: Onsite during the 6-month probationary period and Transition to work-from-home setup/remote after the 6-month probationary period
