Job description

Faria Education Group is looking for a passionate QA Engineer to join the team that owns and is responsible for building the SchoolsBuddy product.

You will work alongside and collaborate closely with the existing R&D Team comprising product managers, developers and QA Engineers. In this role, you will focus on ensuring the quality and reliability of our web and mobile applications. You will play a pivotal part in our software development lifecycle (SDLC) by creating test documentation, running manual tests, and validating new features and enhancements before they are released to thousands of users worldwide.

SchoolsBuddy is a comprehensive extracurricular management system for staff, parents, and students. It features activity management, a transport system, online payments, and sign-up, allocation, and attendance for after-school activities. Trips, online consent, parents’ evenings, sports teams, and bookings can all be managed through the SchoolsBuddy platform.

What you will do

  • Work within multi-disciplinary R&D teams and partner with product managers, developers, and fellow QA engineers to deliver high-quality features.

  • Create and maintain clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases based on product requirements and acceptance criteria.

  • Create and execute test cases based on requirements.

  • Perform manual exploratory, functional,non-functional and regression testing of the web application

  • Test the iOS and Android applications to ensure the functionality, performance and compatibility of new features and fixes.

  • Be an active member of the team, suggesting improvements to the processes to increase the quality of the product and performance of the team

  • Support the further development and implication of our Test Automation Strategy

  • At least 3 years of hands-on manual testing experience of web and mobile applications.

  • Solid understanding of testing types and layers (functional, non-functional) and when best to apply them.

  • Solid knowledge of Client-server architecture, HTTP protocol and REST API testing.

  • Confident user of browser development tools (e.g., Chrome DevTools) to investigate issues and find root causes.

  • Practice with TestRail, Zephyr Scale or similar test case management tools to write and organize test suites.

  • Proven ability to create, maintain, and execute test documentation (test plans, test cases, checklists).

  • Good grasp of QA processes within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

  • At least a B2-C1 level of English (both written and spoken) for daily communication.

Nice to have

  • Good SQL knowledge to support Test activities

  • Knowledge of Postman for both manual and automated API testing

  • Familiarity with any of the test automation frameworks and at least one of the programming languages (JavaScript, TypeScript).

  • Familiarity with any cloud-based no/low-code AI automation tools (Mabl, Smartbear Reflect, TestSigma, e.t.c.)

  • AI usage to simplify daily QA tasks or a similar experience.

  • Have used some of the following supporting tools: Jira, Confluence, TestRail, Github, Azure DevOps
