Job description
Imagine standing at the top of the Empire State Building, taking in the breathtaking view. From the online booking to the seamless entry, every part of your ticketing experience was designed and supported by Ventrata. An industry-leading SaaS platform that helps attractions, tours, and activities to create memorable experiences.
Backed by a passionate team, headquartered in London and with offices in Brno, Lisbon, and remote teams worldwide, we’re expanding rapidly across multiple markets and verticals. Our mission is to help businesses of all sizes scale and grow while preserving their unique identity and spirit.
We’re looking for a QA Engineer with strong automation skills to join our talented product team. You’ll be stepping into a mature, actively developed project where testing is a critical part of the development lifecycle. Your primary focus will be maintaining, expanding, and optimizing our Cypress-based test suite, which already includes 3,000+ tests across 70+ scenarios.
What You’ll Work On
Our platform is composed of two core components:
- Checkout Widget – Enables users to book tickets online for global attractions
- Ticket Management Module – A back-office tool for managing tickets and bookings (currently under active development)
You’ll work closely with developers, product managers, and designers to ensure features meet business requirements, are thoroughly tested, and deliver a smooth, intuitive user experience.
Your Responsibilities
- Expand and maintain the Cypress end-to-end test suite.
- Integrate tests into our CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Review and adjust tests based on new features, bug reports, and production issues.
- Perform manual testing as needed (especially for newly added features and bugfix verification. Based on that, you’ll adjust or create automated tests).
- Think critically about features – spot inconsistencies, raise concerns, and propose improvements.
- Collaborate with developers to debug issues and ensure test reliability.
- Champion quality and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- A solid understanding of programming is required, as you’ll often need to work directly with the codebase or adjust CI workflows to ensure smooth test execution and reporting.
Since you’ll be the last person to sign off on features before production, we also expect product thinking – checking if the implementation makes sense, spotting missing requirements, and asking the right questions.
At Ventrata, we believe that the more questions you ask, the better – we’re aiming for long-term quality and stability. If something feels off to you or doesn’t quite make sense, chances are it will feel the same to our end users. Our widget processes over 25,000 orders every single day, so it’s critical that everything works smoothly and intuitively. That’s why we value testers who are not afraid to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and help us catch issues before they reach production. You’ll be working with a team of experienced developers who understand the value of testing and are always ready to help – you won’t be left on your own.
Understanding of programming fundamentals (preferably JavaScript/TypeScript).
Experience with Cypress.
Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (we use Svelte).
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools – ideally GitHub Actions.
Comfortable reading and navigating codebases.

These examples represent just a few of our many collaborations driving the innovation behind the 21 million tickets we sold in 2023 — a 60% increase from the previous year.
