Job Description

We are seeking an Engineering Manager for a bank environment with strong experience in release management, delivery automation, and cross-team coordination.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving the Release & Delivery strategy across the tribe, ensuring high-quality, secure, and predictable software releases aligned with business priorities.

You will play a key role in improving delivery efficiency, technical quality, and release traceability, fostering a culture of automation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and lead the release management process at the tribe level, ensuring planning, execution, and communication of releases.
  • Manage the release calendar and coordinate delivery timelines across multiple squads, balancing business priorities and technical dependencies.
  • Define, optimize, and oversee CI/CD pipelines, promoting automation and efficiency in the delivery process.
  •  Ensure proper traceability and documentation for all releases, meeting quality standards, regulatory requirements, and audit controls.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks related to releases and deployments.
  • Foster collaboration between squads, QA, Architecture, Security, and DevOps to enable coordinated, high-quality deliveries.
  • Monitor, analyze, and continuously improve key delivery metrics such as lead time, deployment frequency, change failure rate, and release success rate.
  • Advocate for DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices where applicable.
  • Participate in technical reviews, post-mortems, and incident resolution plans related to releases.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in technical leadership roles (Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, DevOps Manager, or similar).
  • Proven experience leading release management processes in Agile / DevOps environments, preferably within organizations operating at scale with multiple squads or tribes.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools and frameworks (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of test automation, quality gates, and continuous testing.
  • Ability to manage technical dependencies across multiple teams and handle complex delivery scenarios.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferible) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and incident management practices.
  • Excellent communication, technical leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent English (written and spoken).

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in a bank environment
  • Certifications in DevOps, SRE, or Cloud technologies.
  • Previous background as a software engineer or developer.
