1kx is a global venture investment firm that partners with forward-thinking founders, protocols, and communities to help grow the crypto ecosystem. We primarily lead seed and series A investment rounds with focus areas across infrastructure, consumer crypto, funds & DAOs, and middleware, and have made more than 120 investments to date. We started in 2018 and have since been building a world-class platform to support our portfolio, with the goal of being the most founder-friendly and helpful source of capital.
We are seeking an Investment Analyst who will play a pivotal role in sourcing deal flow, conducting market research, and providing crucial support to our portfolio companies.

What you offer:
- Must have prior experience in the artificial intelligence field in a technical role and/or knowledge related to distributed systems, machine learning, consensus algorithms, networking, and other relevant fields to blockchain technology
- Ability to aggregate information from protocol specifications, technical repositories, related research, and anecdotal feedback from subject matter experts and distill this into a thesis or investment recommendation
- Passion for the intersection of crypto and artificial intelligence as well as decentralized physical infrastructure (DePIN), with proactive interest in topics such as inference networks, model creation, agents, compute, wireless networks
- Self-starter mentality with a proven ability to take initiative and operate with little oversight
- Intellectually curious, with strong, demonstrated analytical and communication skills
- Empathetic and ready to roll up your sleeves and work with entrepreneurs on their most pressing problems
What you’ll do:
- Conduct deep market research & analysis in the following sectors:
- The Intersection of Crypto & AI
- Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks
- Source investment opportunities within your sector, conduct deep technical due diligence on technical specifications and provide a summary & investment recommendation for each deal
- Identify emerging trends in the industry and formulate a thesis / publish in-depth research within your sector
- Regularly engage with portfolio founders to support their efforts across governance, community building, data analytics, and other tasks that may arise
- Organize events and network with founders & investors in the industry
