Job description
WHERE CULTURE CALLS HOME
Group Black is a media company that drives growth for brands targeting the New Majority — the fastest-growing demographic of diverse audiences shaping culture and driving significant economic impact. Dedicated to fostering an inclusive media ecosystem, Group Black amplifies underrepresented voices and crafts contextually relevant strategies that deeply resonate with today’s multicultural generation. Group Black is where culture calls home.
We know that your voice creates the path to our success. We are a place where employees can be authentic, creative, and energized by the people and work they touch each day.
Brand/Division Overview:
At Group Black, the Commercial team members are energetic and proactive team players who can simultaneously partner with our clients and work hands-on alongside our internal teams. They have an ambitious spirit and thrive under pressure, motivating everyone to not only hit sales quotas but exceed them.
The Role:
As a dynamic player in the media and advertising space, we thrive on innovation, insight, and relationships. We’re growing our team and looking for a results-driven Sales Development Representative (SDR) to help fuel that growth by identifying and connecting with our next top-tier clients. THIS IS A 100% REMOTE ROLE.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Prospecting new clients using sourced lists from the sales team, Mediaradar, Sellercrowd, and/or your personal network.
- Crafting and sending outreach emails in collaboration with the marketing team and sales leadership—or writing your own compelling messages.
- Scheduling and conducting 5–10 discovery calls per week with potential clients to understand their business needs and deliver a tailored GB Pitch (general, verticalized, or client-specific).
- Qualifying leads and passing them to the appropriate sales pod, ensuring they’re armed with detailed notes on client needs, decision-makers, and relevant product interests.
- Keeping CRM data clean and accurate by logging new client interactions, calls, discovery details, and qualified contact information in Boostr.
- Taking ownership as the SDR lead on your accounts in Boostr.
- Meeting weekly with the Sales Team to review prospecting plans, avoid overlap, and align on client outreach support.
- Driving toward the ultimate goal: securing deep dive meetings and in-person revenue-generating conversations for the sales team.
What you can expect:
As an SDR, you will be the first point of contact with potential clients and play a key role in generating new business opportunities. You’ll be prospecting across a range of client types, including:
- Tier 2 Agencies
- In-House Clients
- Mid-Market Clients
- Small Independent Agencies
- Local Market Agencies
- Programmatic-Only Agencies & Clients
- Self-Serve Clients
What you bring to the team:
- 1–2 years of experience in a sales or business development role (media or advertising industry a plus).
- A passion for prospecting and the hustle it takes to identify and engage potential clients.
- Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and in presentations.
- CRM experience (Boostr preferred but not required).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable operating independently while being a collaborative team player.
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on setting and achieving measurable goals.
- Commitment to the mission, vision, and objectives of the organization
