Job description

Intuition Machines builds enterprise security products with an AI/ML focus. We apply our research to systems that serve hundreds of millions of people, with a team distributed around the world. You are probably familiar with our best-known product, the hCaptcha security suite. Our approach is simple: low overhead, small teams, and rapid iteration.

As a Security Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in automating and optimizing core Security Operations Center (SOC) processes. You will work on enhancing bot detection, fraud mitigation, phishing investigations, and other security automation efforts—enabling our security team to scale efficiently and precisely.

In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, secure coding practices, and clean code principles across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

What you will do:

  • Develop automation tools and services: Design, build, and maintain automation tools that support SOC operations, managing the full lifecycle from initial requirements to implementation, deployment, and training.
  • Leverage modern technologies: Utilize technologies such as microservices, Kubernetes, Python, and message queues to streamline workflows and enhance SOC capabilities.
  • Collaborate with security analysts: Work closely with security experts to solve complex automation, security, and engineering challenges, continuously improving our tools and services.
  • Research and implement new standards: Stay updated on emerging trends in security and automation, identifying new technologies and standards to enhance security products and processes.

What we are looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in backend software development.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Strong understanding of programming best practices, design patterns, methodologies, and testing.
  • Experience writing secure code, with knowledge of OWASP security principles.
  • Solid experience working with SQL databases.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Familiarity with developing microservices using Docker.

Nice to have:

  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Familiarity with frontend technologies.
  • Previous involvement in bug bounty programs or a track record of public CVEs and contributions to web application security research.
  • Exposure to modern web browser security, web architecture, network protocols, and web automation frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of Linux.

What we offer:

  • Fully remote position with flexible working hours.
  • An inspiring team of colleagues spread all over the world.
  • Pleasant, modern development and deployment workflows: ship early, ship often.
  • High impact: lots of users, happy customers, high growth, and cutting-edge R&D.
  • Flat organization with direct interaction with customer teams.

We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all members of our team. Join us as we transform cybersecurity, user privacy, and machine learning online!
