As a Character Artist, you will be a key player in bringing high-quality sci-fi characters to life for an exciting AAA+ game project. We’re looking for a skilled artist with a strong artistic vision and expertise in creating hard-surface and futuristic designs. Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and create both high polygonal sculpts and real-time game assets matching (or exceeding) project and studio standards
Work with Lead Artists to ensure timely completion of game assets
Communicate regularly with the Lead Artist regarding the status of current tasks
Obtain Lead Artists guidance and approval as required to advance tasks
Communicate regularly with the Project Manager and Art Director regarding status of current project milestones
Refine artistic abilities and learn new software packages and / or in-house tools
Coordinate with Senior and/or Lead Artists with mentoring Junior 3D Artists as wells as sharing best project practices with them
Experience in modeling, sculpting and texturing characters using 3ds Max, Maya, Zbrush or Mudbox, Marvelous and Photoshop (or equivalent packages), Quixel or Substance painter
Knowledge of Unreal Engine 5
Excellent understanding of form, shape, structure and silhouette in regard to modeling
Experience with managing polygon count and texture budgets
Ability to receive constructive feedback
Self-motivation, good communication skills, and a great team-player attitude
