Job description

As a Character Artist, you will be a key player in bringing high-quality sci-fi characters to life for an exciting AAA+ game project. We’re looking for a skilled artist with a strong artistic vision and expertise in creating hard-surface and futuristic designs. If you have a passion for crafting detailed humans, clothing, accessories at the highest standard, join us in shaping a visually stunning sci-fi universe.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and create high-quality models, including both high polygonal sculpts and real-time game assets, matching (or exceeding) project and studio standards  with a strong focus on sci-fi aesthetics and hard surface design

  • Collaborate closely with Lead Artists to ensure accuracy in models design, and quality of in-game assets, maintaining the distinct style of the project

  • Work with Lead Artists to ensure timely completion of game assets.

  • Communicate regularly with the Lead Artist regarding the status of current tasks

  • Obtain Lead Artists guidance and approval as required to advance tasks . Maintain high quality documentation detailing process, best practice, references etc.

  • Refine artistic abilities and learn new software packages and / or in-house tools

  • Coordinate with Senior and/or Lead Artists with mentoring Junior 3D Artists as wells as sharing best project practices with them

  • Experience in modeling, sculpting and texturing characters using modern industry standards: 3ds Max, Maya, Zbrush, Marvelous, Photoshop, Substance Painter or equivalent packages

  • Excellent understanding of form, shape, structure and silhouette whether in regard to sculpting organic forms or in hard surface modeling

  • Experience working with game engine Unreal Engine 5, knowledge of real-time rendering constraints and pipelines

  • Strong artistic and design abilities, a sharp eye for composition and color theory, with huge love in character design

  • Having strong technical skills with managing polygon count and texture budgets for AAA+ games.

  • Ability to receive constructive feedback.

  • Self-motivation, good communication skills, and a great team-player attitude
