Job Description
Overview
We are looking for a highly talented and motivated full-time Senior Character Artist to play a key role across a wide variety of cross-platform projects at the Gameloft Bucharest studio.
Your contribution to the team will be pivotal in generating high-quality character models for the project, while also ensuring seamless integration in accordance with technical limitations and artistic vision.
Your main challenges will include:
- Realize the overall artistic vision of characters based on designs, concepts and descriptions.
- Design, model, and texture high quality 3D characters, paying close attention to anatomical proportions, physiology and overall geometry to work well with rigging and skin deformation.
- Working closely with all major departments in the work (Art, Design, Code,) to ensure all requirements for the characters are gathered and well understood.
- Work with Art Director and project Character Art Lead to combine ideas and methodologies of character production to create an efficient, streamlined pipeline.
- Multitask effectively, prioritize competing demands, and follow through on details.
- Support and mentor other Artists who are less experienced and require more direction.
Qualifications
Skills & Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience creating characters for game development.
- Strong understanding 3D applications software like 3Ds Max or Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter and game engines like Unreal. A compelling portfolio showcasing your character/creature art skills.
- An exceptional understanding of human and creature anatomy with a keen eye towards form, structure, and silhouette and overall appeal.
- A love for gaming and a desire to create compelling characters.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, ability to manage tasks, meet deadlines, address challenges proactively, and a drive for continuous learning and professional development.
Nice to have:
- Knowledge about character setup (skinning, rigging), clothing, hair, maxscript and/or python.
