THE TEAM: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

The Finance Applications team is responsible for all of our technology systems providing solutions for Zuora internal Accounting, Procurement, Legal, and Human Resources departments. This position reports to the Vice President of Digital Workplace Experience and works alongside other business system analysts and systems administrators. Additionally, there is indirect support by a mix of project managers, scrum masters, architects, and developers.

YOUR MISSION
As a member of the IT organization partnering with Finance & Accounting, the Sr. Business Systems Analyst will act as a business technology advisor on how to use technology to maximize efficiency and effectiveness across Accounting teams
YOUR OPPORTUNITY
As a Senior Business Systems Analyst, you will collaborate closely with the Accounting and Procurement team to promote continuous improvements and implement best practices across our Finance SaaS application landscape. Your role will include shaping the future vision of our systems, anticipating business needs, prioritizing user stories through backlog refinement, and acting as the bridge between development and cross-functional teams. You’ll play a key role in delivering enhancements through agile sprints and supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with Procurement and Accounting Team to assess business needs and optimize processes such as Procure to Pay (P2P), General Ledgers and Record to Report (R2R), with the goal of identifying improvements and increasing efficiency in finance applications, while aligning with industry best practices and standards
- Leading initiatives to enhance Procure to Pay, Month-End Close, and Record to Report and other financial processes, aiming to boost operational efficiency and contribute to overall business performance
- Engaging directly with the Cross-Functional teams to gather and clarify requirements, write and refine user stories, coordinate approvals, support development, conduct functional testing, and assist with business testing before release.
- Providing system support for financial systems such as NetSuite, Coupa, and others by addressing configuration, data, and transactional issues
- Creating and maintaining user documentation and training materials, and delivering end-user training sessions to maximize system adoption and effectiveness
- Managing and reviewing IT support tickets by diagnosing issues, performing root cause analysis, and ensuring prompt resolution
- Maintaining system documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) current and comprehensive

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Contribute significantly to major initiatives, including enhancing the automated Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process in Coupa, enabling seamless end-to-end data integration, and improving bank reconciliation and cash management processes
- Accelerate and optimize the month-end close process, resulting in more timely and accurate financial reporting
- Drive improvements in finance business processes to boost usability and opeartional efficiency
- Strengthen the functionality and scalability of financial systems to meet the growing needs of the Finance team and other cross-functional partners
- Improve the accuracy and consistency of financial data, reinforcing its reliability for informed business decisions
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with the Cross-Functional teams and the development team, ensuring successful project delivery and system improvements while gaining a deeper understanding of financial systems and workflows
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- Bachelor’s degree in Management Information System (MIS), Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Over 10+ years of experience as a Business or Systems Analyst within a finance or accounting environments, with strong emphasis on P2P (prefer Coupa) and ERP/financial systems such as NetSuite
- Solid understanding of core financial operations, including accounting principles, month-end close activities, and FP&A practices related to allocations, budgeting, and forecasting
- Direct, hands-on experience with NetSuite is required; familiarity with platforms like Coupa, Blackline, and other finance tools is a plus
- NetSuite SuiteFoundation Certification is preferred
- Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills with a keen eye for process improvement and quality assurance
- Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—for effectively gathering requirements, documenting processes, developing test strategies, and collaborating across teams
- Knowledge of financial reporting, accounting standards, and regulatory compliance requirements, including IT controls, SOX, SDLC, and change management

The base pay details represent the annualized salary range for the posted position. While we share a comprehensive range, a candidate’s final base salary will fall within these guidelines and will be determined based on multiple factors including but not limited to: qualifications of the candidate, job related knowledge, prior related experience, specific and unique skills, the location of the role, internal equity and internal budget.
